Resmed Airsense 10 - making a whistling noise

Post by Chikorita » Wed Mar 31, 2021 5:36 pm

Hi Everyone,

My machine has started making a quiet whistling noise part the way through the night.
It's not there when I switch it on and if I turn it off and back on it's not there.
I don't think there are any leaks and the water chamber has water in it.
The noise is from the machine not the hose.
Any suggestions or anyone with a similar experience?

Mine could whistle like a teakettle, and my tinnitus would drown it out.
Not much help, but could you record the sound?
Then have your dealer take a listen.

My husband used it a couple of times and then never used it again and I've been using it maybe nine months.
IDK what year it was made but he got it in 2016.
I wouldn't have thought it had been used for more than a year.
Sorry I can't be more specific.

It's not loud enough to record, just loud enough to hear if that makes sense.
I'm concerned there's something wrong but it doesn't wake me so that doesn't bother me.
I'm in Australia and I don't have a dealer coz i bought it overseas online.

Have you checked....To see if the holes in the air intake are clear? If the seal around the humidifier cover is in correctly? If any holes in the mask exhaust area are clear?

Look at the filter.
Change it if it's been in there over a month.

Mine started making a whirring noise after 6 months. Brought back to shop and they sent to Resmed for repair under warranty. It's been working flawlessly for 3 years now after repairs without weird noises.
Machine: Airsense 10 Autoset (humidity 7, slimline hose) (5 years)
Mask: Resmed F30 (medium) (1 year)
Previous masks: Swift FX Nano (5 years); Dreamwear Nasal (few days); Swift FX pillow (few days)
Sleep study in 2016 with AHI 12 and some oxy desats

Ah, interesting. So I am not alone. Mine is past the warranty coz hubby had it sitting in a drawer while I used my own machine. Only started using his when mine died. It hasn't been used for long but I doubt it would be covered.
