Squeaky Swivel of mask!

Post by Fredman » Thu Jan 04, 2007 8:40 pm

Does anyone have a problem with the plastic on their mask squeaking. The elbow on the mask that swivels often squeaks as it twists.

I am wondering if I put some vegetable oil where the mask and swivel meets would correct the problem. I have a concern that the oil might cause more problems, maybe weaken the plastic?

Try taking the swivel apart and then thoroughly clean it with a toothbrush or something that will get into the groove. That should stop the squeaking.

Thanks CapT. I thought of the same thing and carefully have cleaned and inspected both parts of the mask where they meet. Can't see any foreign material.

I notice you have the same mask. You don't have that problem at all?

I really like this mask, except the annoying squeak when it swivels. Maybe I will call my CPAP provider and see what they have to say.

lube it up with a Q-tip with some vaseline on it, won't be enough on there to harm anything.
