Question on printing reports from OSCAR

Post by Bookbear » Fri Jan 01, 2021 2:39 pm

First of all, a happy, safe, and hopeful New Year to all! :D

I am trying to print out a statistics report from OSCAR. I have gone over the OSCAR help wiki, and unless I am missing something, there doesn't seem to be a mention of how to do this.

I have tried to Print Screen (Win 10, OSCAR 1.2) but the image, when printed, always cuts off the right hand portion, about two month's worth in the Monthly Statistics report. This happens in both Portrait and landscape modes, regardless of screen resolution.

To be clear, the full report shows on my screen, but never on a printout.

Any help appreciated. Stay safe!
Mark

Well, I am feeling marginally stupid! Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately, the printout is still cutting off the right-hand side, losing about two months from the yearly stats, in both landscape and portrait mode.

you may want to post this in the oscar thread-

viewtopic/t180497/OSCAR-v120-is-released-10102020.html

the developers monitor that thread.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

Of course, that should not be happening.

I think you said you are using Win10? Are you using a high resolution monitor? The fact that F12 also cuts off part of the image suggests this is one of the complications that can arise with high resolution displays. Have you adjusted the OSCAR program properties as suggested in http://www.apneaboard.com/wiki/index.ph ... leshooting.

What printer are you using? What size paper are you printing on? Do you have problems with getting the full width with any other programs? Is the printer shared?

What happens if you print to a PDF printer? Is the right edge still cut off?

Yes, Win10, latest version of OSCAR, Little home laser printer, Samsung 2020, no other issues cutting off print area, printer is not shared, but is connected wirelessly.

I will adjust the program properties as suggested below:

Solution or workaround: In Windows 10: In the Windows file explorer, go to whatever folder contains the oscar.exe program (usually C:\program files\oscar or c:\program files (x86)\oscar)
Right click on 'oscar.exe'.
Left click on 'Properties'.
Left click the 'Compatibility' tab.
Left click on 'Change High DPI Settings'.
Left click box for 'Override high DPI scaling behavior'.
Scaling performed by: Click on drop down box just below and select 'System'.
Click Apply, then OK.

Thanks for the tips, and I will let you know.

What happens if you just take a screen shot like you were going to show us that statistics page and then just printed the screen shot?
I don't have a printer available or I would test it myself.

I tried adjusting the OSCAR parameters as was suggested above, and that took care of the problem... the print is a bit large, but all the data are there. Thanks to all for the help!
