Need a vertical pull chin strap

Post by Viraj3474 » Wed Nov 18, 2020 11:27 am

I am using the Knightsbridge cap chin strap that some of you are familiar with. It has worked better for me than others because the pull on the chin is upward or vertical. Other chinstraps pull diagonally backward and cause real pain in the jaw. Problem is the KB chin strap, in my experience, doesn't work for masks like the Air Fit N30i that I use. Too much bulk is created by the KB two straps, both secured on one side of the cap. The silicon frame has to go over the two straps on that one side and causes distortion. For me the cap has been generally hard to fit properly, especially at the back neckline and as a result usually slides, taking the silicon frame with it.

Long story short: Does anyone out there know of another chin strap with a vertical pull?

Cpapcap, or a biker's bandanna with added cotton chin strap.
some prefer to push the chin up with a foam neck collar, rather than pull it up with a sling.

There's one called "Deluxe" or "Deluxe-Style" on cpap.com that is more vertical than most and fairly stable.

Maybe if you cut a hole in the top of the Knightsbridge, you could use it over the Air Fit N30i?

Thanks for your suggestions. I'll give the Deluxe a look.

Thanks for the information. A foam neck collar seemed to work for a time, but wasn't as effective as I hoped. Everyone's different for sure.
