First night on apap, 50 + clear airway apneas?

Post by nilikadam39 » Thu Dec 24, 2020 5:20 am

M/24 So, I started trying to sleep at about 12 with the full face mask. At first I would start to nod off but wake up to either hissing at the connector on my mask, or the mask would over inflate and feel uncomfortable. At around 330 I switched to nasal pillow, despite my sinuses being a huge problem, I slept till about 8, waking a few times when my heart was pounding from low oxygen. Then from 8 o got on the shower, felt exhausted, and went back to bed to lay around til 10:30, again waking a couple times when my heart would pound.

I'm getting really nervous, I really wanted this treatment to work. During my take home study my oxygen dropped to 77 at one point. I really REALLY don't want brain damage.

The weird thing is, I had an ahi of 7, osa of 6 CAA of 32 and hyponea of 55

What should I do?

Don't panic. Let's see when those events got flagged and see if they relate to maybe some awake breathing irregularities getting flagged by mistake.
First night on cpap is always a bit weird and you may have had a lot of flagging happen while awake.
