Quitting cpap.

Post by warp3456 » Tue Nov 10, 2020 7:04 am

After 9 months on cpap with no improvement in my fatigue and still been Woking up during the night i have quit and i am now going to spain when covid ends for non invasive lower jaw surgery to move the jaw forward. my sleep ct scans show my airway is the size of a drinking straw and i have a smaller then normal jaw.- the surgery won't be easy but they have new non invasive methods and i have done my research. I tried cpap and it failed me.

You know, if you were to e.g. download Oscar here, post a couple of nights' results, experts here could see what goes on overnight and suggest adjustments according to that. If you've not been given good advice or knowledgable guidance with Cpap for years, you may have been cheated as so many others were. Unfortunately doctors know the science of apnea, but not enough understand therapy, let alone the technical aspects of cpap, which is why this forum is here - hundreds/thousands have been helped over years to use their machines properly and possibly change aspects of lifestyle as well to support good sleep.

Before you go on to have surgery (can't take that back once it's done) with potential new problems (e.g. TMJ) why not give those here a shot at helping you... nothing to lose after all, and may a lot to gain!

you may want to hold on to your machine. even after surgery, you may still need it.

good luck!
