Post by soulfixinman » Sat Aug 01, 2020 8:00 am

Can I use an Aircurve 10 Asv as an auto bipap?
Anyone know what therapy settings you can select like

"Bipap" is a respironics term.

The ASV *is* a bilevel, just a specialized one.

It can sort of act like an auto bilevel, in a limited fashion. But it's wasting it's capabilities to do so.

Depending on your bilevel settings the ASV can usually be dumbed down enough to make it a workable solution for you if the price is right.
You need to understand that the reporting is slightly different with ASV.

The thing about ASV you need to be aware of is this:

It's designed to constantly adjust pressure support, often aggressively.

With the Resmed machine, you actually can't configure it to act like a standard bilevel, because it is restricted to a minimum delta between min and max PS of 5.

Some people are bothered by this; others not.
