Re: heated tube for airsense 10
You've been told how to measure the air temperature, You've been provided the clinical manual, you responded by asking others to read it for you and tell you what page to go to.
You just won't do a thing for yourself, will you?
Your machine does have access to clinical mode. It's in the manual and no, nobody here is going to read it for you and tell you what page to go to.

Re: heated tube for airsense 10
i dont know why you need to be so rude. i stuck digital thermometer i measure my body temp in a tube is not measuring anything because temperature is too low to register. i dont have any room thermometers to measure tube temp.
i dont have any clinical settings on my machine. Is it possible Apria disabled them?

clinician menu is accessed by pressing the home button and the big knob at the same time. hold for at least 10 seconds.
follow the directions from there.

Re: heated tube for airsense 10
I think it’s a matter of personal perception. When I had my climate control set to auto it got so warm I thought I was going to suffocate. Even then, if I had measured the air temp I bet it would only have been in the 70’s. I think the original poster is expecting it to feel warm on his hand. That’s not likely to happen as moving air feels cooler. I would guesstimate that in order for air to feel warm to him it would have to be around 90.chunkyfrog wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 10:19 am"Cold" air is relative.
You are expecting "warm" air.
You will never get it.
Moving air feels cooler than it really is.
You are not used to cpap yet, and that will take a while.
It did for all of us.

Re: heated tube for airsense 10
thank you very much. found clinical set up menu, and reviewed all the settings. really no change as far as cold air. and none of thermometers i have measure temp inside of tube. So i will get room temp thermometer and hopefully i get better indication. But in nutshell Apria mislead me what heated tube suppose to do. I think it is exactly what i am told on this board. Condensation only which works, but no warm temp. So basically Apria took 2 months old brand new machine from me, gave me replacement that works exactly as old one, made me waste tons of time. And why would they do it? So they can get perfect machine that resmed probably does not want back because Apria told them it is not working. Any guesses what what Apria going to do with my 2 months old machine?
Thank you very much for all help. heated tube is least of my problems. Will be posting more on masks

Re: heated tube for airsense 10
Climate control is for the humidity being delivered. This affects how much heat goes to the heating plate that delivers heat to the water chamber
Hose air temperature is a separate control...and measured in degrees.
Stick the pointy thing in the hose at the mask end after you run the machine for about 10 minutes

No...they can't be disabled but you do have to know how to get into the clinical setup menu area....combination of button pushing all explained in that manual at the above link.resmedsucks wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 11:17 ami dont have any clinical settings on my machine. Crapia misleading or lying to someone....OMG who would have thought.
Apria is more know for their lies than anything else. It sure isn't service.
As long as you aren't getting condensation in the hose or mask...you should be good to go.
Trust me...that really warm air makes it feel like you are breathing in a hot muggy swamp and not all that pleasant unless you just like hot air.
I have a heated hose...I turn the heat down to as low as it will go in the summer and crank it up only in the winter because I like a cold bedroom and with my preferred humidity setting and cold bedroom....condensation in the mask and hose is guaranteed and highly annoying.

Re: heated tube for airsense 10
Without a heated tube, my nose gets uncomfortably cold--enough to make drippies.
With the heated hose, my nose is less cold, and not as soggy.
Only one mask made my face feel warm--the Respironics fitlife total face mask.
I could only take about 20 minutes--had to pull it off!
That sucker is HOT!

Re: heated tube for airsense 10
Check through the list again. Cpap.com carries it, so it must be there.
Also, if you select text instead of icons, we can better see what you have.
If you have a mask or machine not on the list, you can put it in the comments line.

Re: heated tube for airsense 10
If your machine is the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet (the black model) look down in the R section of the equipment menu list.
It's down in the R'ss and not in the A's with all the other models. A simple typo caused this problem and it won't/can't be fixed easily.
The model name is clearly shown on the lower right of the machine face.
Now if it doesn't say "AutoSet"....tell us exactly what it says.

Re: heated tube for airsense 10
The *entire reason* that the heated hoses were created was to avoid condensation, *YOU* are trying to twist it into something it isn't.resmedsucks wrote: ↑Sat Jul 25, 2020 10:15 amauto setting is for climate control, so if i set it to auto i get cold air no matter how long i run machine
if i set climate control to manual, i can adjust humidity level from 1 to 8, but no matter what setting are i sill get cold air regardless how long machine is running
it sounds like this whole heated tube concept is nothing more that misleading concept. basically it has nothing to do with warm air it is all about condensation. i do not get condensation when i use heated tube. but tube is heavier, not producing warm air. so why do i care about condensation? regular tube is easier to use. and it is blowing same cold air.
also i have no clinical setup on my machine. is it possible hme disable it?
