WTH is this?
WTH is this?
Been trying all kinds of masks (relative newby). Lately I've been on an AirTouch F20 and sorta dig it except for the leaks. But then I saw this:
Two questions:
1. What the heck is that shallow breathing circled that lasted about 30 min?
2. Do I need to up my max pressure?
Thanks for this board!!

Re: WTH is this?
Looks like Flow Limit. Palatal Prolapse?
Pressure is Maxing out at 15cm. FL 95% - 0.29; Max 0.71
Can not see your Flow Limit graph.
I am no expert, so need to wait for one to take a look to know for sure.
Happens to me fairly often. I do not worry much about it.
(anymore)
JPB
Just to clarify. 95% is below 0.29, but 5% is above,
The area you are referring to is aprox. 5%.

Re: WTH is this?
Yes.
Almost always, when we see the pressure hit the maximum and flatten out, especially for noticeable periods of time, we need increase the maximum pressure. There are reasons to limit it. Unless you have a reason to cap it, set the maximum pressure to the machine maximum.
I would also consider increasing your minimum pressure. Yours is set to 8, almost immediately increases and rarely goes below 10.

To follow up on jimbud's comment, could you post the same daily chart but with the flow limitation graph in there? You can squeeze graphs by grabbing the grey horizontal bar that separates them and moving it up.

So here's the expanded view including the flow limit:

And here's from last night where I had increased min to 8 and max to 17:
Really disappointing how my SpO2 crashes right as I'm falling to sleep

Re: WTH is this?
Your machine is still capping at your arbitrary maximum limit, the solution is to set it to 20. Allow it to go where it needs to go.
Your minimum is still too low, once gain it raises and then never drops below ~10.
Your flow limitation is pretty active, especially when your machine is capped at the maximum and because it takes a while to get to proper pressure. Increasing minimum and maximum should address that and clean up your flow limitation a bit.

Re: WTH is this?
What do you recommend I set my minimum to?

Re: WTH is this?
You can't just tell what the minimum should be set to.
You set it, look at your results for a few days and note trends. Gradually increase, looking for a flatter pressure line, lower AHI (OA and H) and less active flow limitations.
As you start to dial it in, increase by smaller amounts, expect smaller improvements until you stop improving. Wait a few days between adjustments so you aren't influenced by one-off nights.
When dialing it in, you want to be wary of too much pressure. Consider your own personal preference, there is no point in so much pressure that it's a completely flat line, uncomfortable and you're essentially delegating your machine to the functionality of a fixed pressure machine.
