CPAP and Grinding Mouth Guard Together?

Post by Steven3467 » Thu Jul 16, 2020 12:35 pm

Greetings CPAP friends...I have been a longtime grinder/jaw clencher at night. I wake up almost every morning with jaw, face, and neck pain. At the same time, I have moderate sleep apnea. I have gone back and forth between trying the CPAP and sleep apnea mouth appliance/mouthguard. The sleep apnea appliance was very tough on my jaw every time I tried to advance the jaw setting forward. My doctor has told me the sleep apnea mouth guard is very tough to try to use and for most people doesn't work. That said, the CPAP doesn't address the grinding. My doc has suggested I go back to trying the CPAP with a custom guard for my upper teeth to address the grinding. She believes investing in that combination is the best long term solution. Can you all let me know if you or someone you know has been successful using the CPAP in combination with the guard? Any other thoughts? Greatly appreciate your feedback!

I used one for years. I don't suffer from bruxism, but I believe this would help.

I have worn a dentist made night guard for a long time and XPAP for three years without problems.
