Time For a Chin Strap?

Post by grounded » Thu Jul 02, 2020 7:42 am

I seem to be breathing through my mouth more and more lately. Don't know why. Is it time to duct tape myself?

Have you tried any FF masks?

Remember that straps don't keep your lips closed, only jaw.

Do you know you are mouth breathing or is that an assumption based on large leaks?

may i suggest this, instead of taping?

i use this method (modified somewhat) in conjunction with a firm foam cervical collar.

works a treat for me.

What I would do if it were me.

1....Decide if those leaks disturbed my sleep with wake ups and evaluate how I feel during the day.
2....Depending on the answer to number 1 I would tape my mouth shut for at least one night just to make sure that the leaks seen are indeed from the mouth and not mask movement. I would hate to go to extraordinary measures to keep the mouth shut when the mouth wasn't the cause of the big leaks and instead it was mask movement.

To fix a problem you first have to identify the cause of the problem.

Now if after all that you determine it is mouth opening and it's creating a problem with sleep and how you feel then you get to decide which way you want to try to go about fixing it.

That's a fair point. It's not really fair that I've taken liberties with Zonker's pic, but haven't posted mine, so he can respond in kind.

Here's me, all masked up. Please, no unflattering edits.

You've been plotting your revenge since the first altered image? Can't wait to see that...as I recall seeing an altered image more than a year ago? A year or more planning revenge must be quite the elaborate plan. This is gonna be awesome

Maybe he's just a slow planner.  We also have to take into consideration that he has relocated and is trying to get his new residence livable. Maybe next year.
