Enough with the crap talk.
Get back on topic or if that has been exhausted I will be happy to lock the thread.
Or if you want to continue the crap talk...I will be happy to lock the thread.
It's getting old and disgusting.

One warning only....one more crap talk comment and there will be no more comments.

I've learned of a new method that allegedly gets the smell out of silicone, but haven't tried yet.

Bake the smell out. So long as it is silicone it will do well in temperatures well about 250.
  1. Wash silicone with dish soap
  2. Preheat your oven to 250 (f)
  3. Bake on a cookie sheet for 20 minutes
  4. Remove and give it the sniff test
  5. If it still smells, place back in oven for 10 minutes
  6. Repeat, until smell is gone
Let me know how you make out with the Silicone baking (or other methods you try).
I'm so happy about finding this. I didn't want to switch out my mask with my new one until I cleared an antibody test that said I didn't still have COVID. The new mask REEKS so I'll try the baking.

Does this work for silicone everything? I have a refrigerator that has a silicone hose (from water source to fridge) that also REEKS to high heaven to the point I told the maintenance man (I rent) to disconnect the ice feature because no matter how many times I ran the water to clear new filters I could taste the smell of silicone in the water. Is that type of hose a different situation that the water would taste bad (or it smells so bad I think it tastes bad) or do you think I could bake it? The maintenance guy is probably not going to want to stand around while I bake a hose, but I might be able to beg him if a silicone hose is the same problem with smell as the small, thin silicone on my mask.

Thanks.
