Re: Kinda lost - UARS
Thanks Dog slobber I’ll get my hand on the guide and go through your post when I have the machine in hands.
I’m going to need a full face mask as I’m a mouth breather at night.
I already tried the Resmed Airfit F30 for 3 nights and it was not ( forgot the not) too bad. I think I’d like to try one with the tube on top of the head to be able to move easily during the night, I’ll be checking that out.
Thanks for all your advices, I really appreciate it!

Re: Kinda lost - UARS
So I got my machine, I set it up yesterday and went for my first night. I’m now trying to understand the Oscar data but it looks like my data does not cover RERAs ?! Is this normal?
Also in order to share a screenshot I’m looking for a list of elements to include and even though I used the search tab, I can’t find anything. I often see a pie chart in the screenshots but mine is not showing that yet ...
I don’t know what’s the pertinent information regarding UARS in Oscar
.

Re: Kinda lost - UARS
See this thread for posting instructions.
The machine RERA reporting isn't helpful in my experience anyway; I wouldn't worry about that.

Re: Kinda lost - UARS
Both your machine and OSCAR will lag RERAs. They won't show up in OSCAR until you've had at least one.
Most encourage Pie Charts to be turned off. It takes up valuable space at the expense of statistics and Machine Settings. The important graphs are Event, Flow Rate, Pressure Leak, Flow Limit, Snore. Also in order to share a screenshot I’m looking for a list of elements to include and even though I used the search tab, I can’t find anything. In OSCAR -> View -> Reset Graphs -> Standard, to format screen the way to present them here.

Re: Kinda lost - UARS
Pie chart viewing is off with the latest OSCAR default setting. It can be seen with a little change in the settings but the reason it is absent as default is because it's pretty much useless and takes up precious viewing space that keeps the more useful statistics from showing up.

So I completed my 3 first nights and here are the results.

Re: Kinda lost - UARS
actually, this isn't a bad looking chart as far as the numbers go. the less events you have, the better. and you have only a few.
i will wait and see what the more seasoned forum members say.
if it were me, though, i'd stay the course with what you have now.
OH! it's always good when posting graphs to let us know how you slept. good? poorly? tossing and turning? there is far more to sleeping than getting the good numbers.
good luck!

Re: Kinda lost - UARS
My goal was to understand my tiredness (don’t even know if the word exist, sorry I’m French
) since I don’t have sleep apnea.
My initial report showed a lit of RERAs but I don’t know what it looks like so I can’t look for it in the Oscar’s reports.
1st night was okay, 2nd and 3rd I felt bad waking up and I woke up a few time during the night in a panic mode.

Aprilia,
I'm absolutely thrilled with what I'm seeing, I've seen a lot of people take a lot of optimizing and take a long time to get results as good as yours.
I'm especially pleased with how well you did finding a machine, setting it up, downloading OSCAR, getting graphs and uploading them.
Perfect. Great Job.
Some thoughts:
How long is different some in days, others weeks, others months.
The good news; your apnea is being treated and no longer causing harm to your body.

Some thoughts:
- What kind of mask did you end up with?
- You may want to put your machine and mask in your signature so others can see what you have have at a glance.
- You've set the machine to AutoSet for Her mode. Nothing wrong with that, you're taking advantage of the extra mode your machine is capable of. And if it works for you, great.
- I think there could be some little tweaks, but I Like Zonker's approach. Let's stay the course a bit and get you used to the thing first.
- If you do want to try some tweaks, I would increase the minimum a bit. Say 8.
You're likely tired because you've traded poor sleep because of apnea, for poor sleep because you're wearing a strange and foreign device on your face. You will get used to it and you'll start sleeping better.Aprilia wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 6:20 pmMy goal was to understand my tiredness (don’t even know if the word exist, sorry I’m French) since I don’t have sleep apnea.

Re: Kinda lost - UARS
People with UARS and not definitive OSA aren't going to see much on the OSCAR software reports to help them out.
We have to remember that the data these machines gather is geared more to OSA evaluation and therapy and not UARS which isn't the same thing. The same pressures needed to get a nice clean OSA therapy report isn't necessarily the same pressure needed to optimally treat UARS. So these reports aren't going to show you much because there wasn't much OSA wise to start with.
You are going to have to rely more on subjective feeling than on the data that you see being reported. It's hard...I know it's hard but it's just the way it is.
The treatment for UARS is cpap but you aren't going to have anything to really rely upon except how you feel.
It's going to take some time and probably a lot of experimenting to figure out what you are going to need to feel better if UARS is your problem.
