Canadian Online Mask trial supplier

Post by paultn » Mon May 04, 2020 9:32 am

Hello,

Does anyone know of an online Canadian CPAP Mask supplier that has a trial period? Basically I would like to test a mask but if I don't like it return for another.

Thanks

Why not try calling around to see who says what? I'm not aware of a place that does that, but you might have some close by.

I've ordered from two different Canadian online CPAP sites, (monstercpap.ca and cpapoutlet.ca) none of which appear to have a trial.

I can go with local places, Problem is they all charge $350 per mask, doesn't matter the mask. Im not paying $350 for something I can get for less than 200 online.

I see some masks on Amazon, does anyone know if the standard Amazon return policy applies to CPAP masks?

Call Amazon and ask them... what if we're wrong?

But the $350 is nonsense - I and other Canucks have bought masks here for much less, depending on which and on the exchange rate of the day.

Oh I agree its terrible pricing. Its just what I have seen in my local stores.
Seems like they are making up for the Government Mandated CPAP machine price by gouging on the masks.

Paul,
I have been buying masks for over 10 years, mostly in Canada and have not found any that have a return policy. You could always ask them when you call. We used to exchange masks on here when one didn't suit us and we wanted to try another type, I've traded with lots of the members here............. actually I have a N30i (standard) headgear that is too big for me that I would get rid of if you are looking for that one. I totally agree that local Canadian prices suck, when I first started I had no clue and I got a F&P brick and full face mask for $2000 from the DME here. Boy did I learn fast once I found this forum, these guys and gals will help out in anyway they can.

Cheers and be safe
Nan
Started cpap in 2010.. still at it with great results.

nanwilson, you made me think of this-

viewtopic/t36070/THE-GREAT-PILLOW-EXCHA ... w+exchange

the thread title is a bit deceptive. it seems a place where forum members look to exchange masks of all types.
people say i'm self absorbed.
but that's enough about them.

With this virus going around, I doubt anyone will take a mask back. But why the $350 price tag? Is there a shortage of masks, or something?

Don't want to defend DME's pricing, and since getting my equipment, I have bought solely online, but the price isn't quite as outrageous as it first seems.

First off, don't forget $350 CAD is about $250 USD. Then there are costs that brick and border joints have that online sites simply don't have. Rarely can B&M compete with online. Add the cost of technicians for fitting and other services. There also is a cost to being able to return items.

Having said that, B&M needs to recognize that when I'm rebuying a mask, I'm not taking advantage of their fitting and return services. That hidden cost should be removed.

Makes sense. Plus the government probably takes half of that $350 anyway.

I do have to agree with the pricing being high. Last time I bought a mask at a B&M store they charged me higher than the MSRP. The price online was about half. The only caveat is that my insurance supplier ( Pacific Blue Cross ) will not reimburse me ( 80% ) of any online purchases, they must be made via a B&M store. I have a maximum lifetime allowance and once it is used up to bad. So I purchase supplies online but buy the cpap machine at the local store at their price. I have not found any store that has a trial period. The B&M store when setting me up allowed me to take a couple of masks during the titration period but not since.

The pricing is outrageous when they are Charging $350 for a Resmed f20 or f30 as well as charging $350 for a Resmed P10. There is so much less mask in the P10 it should not be the same price.

Maybe they could add some extra parts that aren't needed in the box to make it seem like a good value. Or maybe shop around for a better price.
