Wow,
I can see why Apap left this place....
ask a simple question and get smashed by 100 aggressive “Experts”.
My last machine lasted me a couple of weeks over 10 years because I looked after it and changed filter regularly- I strongly suggest if you wish to get the most out of your machine I would definitely be changing the filter a little more often than 1 year?? Seriously?? Even the manufacturer recommends every 6-8 weeks!
I was just asking a simple question as was Apap in the beginning, about where to get bulk filter sheet, instead of help/advice or support we receive sarcastic and aggressive nonsense. I had already looked for any other threads and had a read of all comments on this post without getting a simple answer so decided to ask the question again.
As for the fact that I am looking to save a dollar or two... That’s all I’m trying to do... not trying to cut corners or use inferior products (not that that’s any of your business anyway if I was) so instead of being a smart arse from behind the computer screen. Next time if you don’t have a helpful answer - move along....

As Zonker, another forum member often suggests, this forum is sort of a zoo. Some of us are cordial. Others are not. Apologies if I have seemed less than cordial in my previous reply on this thread.
I looked into exactly the same thing a month ago. I found it wasn't worth the effort. My research suggested you would end up paying a lot more for the bulk material. Then you have to cut the material, heat seal the edges together, and all at the same time keep the material from getting dirty while you're handling it. The coarser material that could be bought would not sufficiently act to remove dust, virus or other micron-sized particles from your machine. All it will do is remove most moths and bugs. It's really not enough.
The time, money and effort spent creating your own filters is actually less cost-effective than simply buying a zipper-locked bulk bag of filters from amazon that will likely outlast your machine's useful lifetime.
If any of our forum members come across as offensive or obnoxious, please let it slide off your back. You are in no way obligated to bare their burden for them.

Re: Uncut filter media sheet source
That depends on the manufacturer.
Resmed clinical manual says "Check the air filter and replace it at least every six months. Replace it more often if there are any
holes or blockages by dirt or dust." quite more than 6-8 weeks.
Respironics, interestingly, doesn't say anything about filter change intervals in their provider manual.
their *service* manual however, says "This device has an automatic air filter reminder. Every 30 days, the device will display a message remindingyou to check your filters and replace them as directed."
General statements about cpap therapy, and machines, are usually wrong.
Filters are cheap, on amazon and ebay.Stub wrote: ↑Sun May 03, 2020 4:11 amAs for the fact that I am looking to save a dollar or two...
