My husband bought a SoClean before we heard about problems with it. He uses it for some of his pap equipment, and now he also uses it to sterilize his cotton covid masks when he uses them for a quick errand or so. After he has used one for more than one day he tosses them in the washer. Seems to work well.

Even though you know that Resmed will void warranties and the FDA says 'don't buy' he still uses it on his pap equipment.

"seems to work well", only there's no evidence that they work *at all*.

In *controlled testing* with "filter paper" there is some evidence that they have an effect, but not that anything is "sterilized'.

but, hey, if it makes you feel better to think it helps in order to justify the expense, more power to you.

I am a new CPAP user and I ordered the SoClean 2 and started using it with my Phillips Dreamstation Auto CPAP Machine. I am hearing mix messaging regarding the safety of the SoClean machine as it leaves Ozone odor and it is difficult to get used to. Does anyone with long time use of the SoClean 2 machine to speak to the safety and effectiveness vs. normal mask and tube washing weekly with soap and water? Thanks
has anyone noticed that this user hasn't been back since asking the question?

No. It's perfectly safe. In fact, I'll have a highly respected Nigerian prince contact you with the details for the international money transfer.

SoClean for Covid 19 Masks

Post by Deborah K. » Fri May 01, 2020 11:48 am

What is wrong with you people?

What I wrote yesterday was certainly not my first post. I have been here for months. We don't have any Resmed machines, so warranty is no issue. I have no interest in arguing over the merits or horrors of the SoClean. My point was not that SoClean is such a good machine, but rather that since we already have it, we had found a good secondary use for it.

My brother in law is a lead chemist with the FDA and says that using ozone for sanitization purposes is safe and effective. So I figured it should do a good job of killing any germ or virus on a homemade cotton Covid 19 mask. No inhalation of ozone will occur.

I am seriously disappointed at the level of unfriendliness and nastiness expressed towards me. I just thought that if some other innocent person already had a SoClean machine, maybe they would find my post helpful.

Sad Deborah

There's nothing wrong with an intense dislike of quackery.

So you don't care if the ozone degrades something in your non-resmed machine, got it.

Excellent, given that there are no merits to the NoClean.

There is no *evidence* that this is any sort of a 'good secondary use' for it.

Read something from someone who works in the low temperature sterilization industry about that very thing:

Well, you "figured" that an ineffectual machine would do a good job. great, and we pointed out that there's absolutely *no evidence* beyond you having "figured", and you don't like that.

If you have been here for a while, as you allege above, you should know that this fact based community is very anti-scam, and all of the ozone based machines are scams, the FDA says they're scams, the FDA says they're not approved, and the FDA says there is no evidence that they do anything useful, and indeed are harmful.

I'm sorry you're sad. Perhaps someday you'll be able to hear that people disagree with you without letting it make you sad.

Reminds me of those people (on Dr. Phil?) who when telling about someone else's misfortune find it necessary to talk about how much THEY (talker) cried.

My bedroom Window A/C has a Ozone function built into it, I have never used in in 3 years, and never will, I love this A/C, is power saver, has a remote, but I'll never use the (Ozone feature?). When it quits cooling, I may put it up for sale, so a No Clean owner can use it to add a little more ozone to their No-Cleaner machine, since it will be unused I think $ 300 should be fair, shipping extra. Jim

Special price for No-Clean owners....
