Covid-19, CPAP cleaning regimen

The most prevalent symptoms of COVID-19 are fever, dry cough and shortness of breath. Likely the first two symptoms and feeling unwell would come before the shortness of breath due to COVID-19.

We are advised to call our physician if we feel unwell and tell them everything and get further guidance.

I could MAYBE see an irregularly high respiratory rate being a cause for concern if it's not normal for you, especially baseline while awake and masked up, indicating a higher work of breathing, but a higher RR can be due to many causes such as stress, not sleeping well, bad dreams, or for whatever reason.

Respiratory wise, in such patient populations that are sick and/or having a hard time breathing, when you see a higher RR it's physiologically to compensate for lower than normal tidal volumes, to try and maintain adequate ventilation. The problem becomes those shallow breaths are more work and less efficient.

If you are mildly ill with a cold or maybe the flu, you can still become short of breath because it doesn't take much to overwhelm the body. That's when it's key to be in touch with someone medical and relay the symptoms fast. You can still call and if recommended go to an urgent care, perhaps with a mask on if they ask you to. You shouldn't not seek treatment for anything just because it isn't covid-19, but the move of the hour is to call, inform and wait for further instruction.

In the next few weeks we are going to see our hospitals tested quite a bit. Even the national stockpile of masks and ventilators is not very encouraging. Hopefully people are reaching out to point of sales, vendors who have vents in stock for sale, and getting all the ones they can. There has to be tons of used vents out there.

All of the medical practices I use have a HIPAA-compliant portal through which we communicate. So far, my doctors reply quickly. I don't know how quickly they will reply with COVID-19 raging.

I'm not ill, no fever, no unusual aches, just normal spring allergies from mowing the back lawn twice this week, yes I'm stir crazy and bored. Also just been hanging in the back yard with the dogs. They say sunlight and air are a good natural way to keep germs at bay but it doesn't help allergies much tho

I'm afraid whats going to happen to the hospitals here (in arizona) as we are an older population like Italy. And we voted yesterday stay safe, stay home, go vote ....arrrg! Talk about your mixed messages. I'm staying home except for the occasional essential supply trips to the store. Hubby and daughter have to work tho, not a lot I can do about that.

I also have allergies, asthma, & heart condition, but I am taking care to NOT go out of the house for any reason. Daughter has to work too but she calls me every day before coming home and asks if I need anything in town before she leaves. Yesterday she called and I needed a few fresh veggies from the store, so she stopped off and picked me up what I needed..... easy ...right. I am not going stir crazy either because I have books to read, quilts to make and embroidery to finish..... NO TIME to be bored in my house. Oh, and I also have done a pile of cooking, filling containers and putting it in the freezer....JUST IN CASE!
I don't have time to complain either... I just put on my old lady panties and do what has to be done.

I don't care what others think about the corona virus, if they believe the hype or not, its here and I remember how sick I was with the original H1N1, so I am doing what needs to be done so that I will still be alive and kicking when this is all over.

I was listening to a radio talk show this afternoon and a trucker called in and he said a lot of the reason for short supplies ( toilet paper) is that half his truck was bottle water, so please drink tap water if it is OK I need my TP. We have good tasting water yet you see these people hauling water out like they was going to die of thirst.

Glad you are staying safe and at home. My daughter is working 50+ hours right now and has asthma herself, My husband is working full time, is over 60, and has health issues too.

I'm glad you are a homebody and staying home is easy for you. I wish it was that simple for everyone. For me, this is pure and utter torture. In the last week and a half, I've read 5 books, mowed the lawn twice, and reorganized my pantry and deep freezer and put it all in an app to keep track of what we have. If it were not for my family needing me and asking me to stay home, I would be offering to provide childcare for those that need to work.
