Re: Covid-19, CPAP cleaning regimen
Well here in Colorado things once again look significantly worse. I for one am not content with normal cleaning regimens, my family is disinfecting every possible surface that has any possibility of being touched and contaminated (including the mask and buttons on CPAP machines) with a disinfectant that contains at least 70% alcohol. Overkill perhaps, but i prefer overkill to allowing the increased possibility of of exposing my son to a virus that could prove fatal to someone with already compromised pulmonary health.
The first confirmed COVID-19 case showed up in Colorado 8 days ago, last night we had 45 positive COVID-19 tests, this morning the number increased to 72. Of those 72 conformed cases 8 required hospitalization and 3 of those 8 are critical. In a press conference today Colorado's governor cautioned that that few people have been tested and there is a high probability that the true number of cases may be in the thousands.
Realism and preparedness are not the same as panic. It is time for us all to recognize the health crisis for what it is and do everything possible to protect ourselves, families, and neighbors,

Running around and repeatedly alcoholing everything in your house isn't the way to protect you and your family, but whatever helps you sleep at night.colomom wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 7:17 pmmy family is disinfecting every possible surface that has any possibility of being touched and contaminated (including the mask and buttons on CPAP machines) with a disinfectant that contains at least 70% alcohol. SARS-COV-2 won't miraculously appear out of thin air, it has to be brought into your home.
Don't bring it into your home.

The bullfrog dug out a box of N95 surgical masks that he had bought several months ago.

I'm stuck at home sick but my parents are still going to work and having contact with people on a daily basis and then coming back to the same home. I don't really know what solution there is except to keep my distance as best as possible. I can't stay inside forever. I think soon enough we are going to experience what Italy is currently going through.palerider wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 8:12 pmRunning around and repeatedly alcoholing everything in your house isn't the way to protect you and your family, but whatever helps you sleep at night.colomom wrote: ↑Fri Mar 13, 2020 7:17 pmmy family is disinfecting every possible surface that has any possibility of being touched and contaminated (including the mask and buttons on CPAP machines) with a disinfectant that contains at least 70% alcohol. Re: Covid-19, CPAP cleaning regimen
Some type of virus the Dr said based on my symptoms. But she didn't show concern for Corona at all. I got some blood taken and a nostril swab but who knows if that will give an actual diagnosis of anything.
I'm not coughing at all and my temp went from low grade 99.3 as of yesterday to 98.3 this morning so I guess either way it's not drastic *yet*.
Mostly I am just tired as hell and have severe body aches and headaches that came on very fast starting like Tuesday.
I've got chronic lung disease so I mean Corona is of course a concern lol.

I understand COVID-19 doesn't cause body aches.raisedfist wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:09 amMostly I am just tired as hell and have severe body aches and headaches that came on very fast starting like Tuesday.
Take care of yourself and keep your temp checked!

I am checking the temp although I'm sure the copious Tylenol skews the readings a bit. I've been taking it in the morning before popping pills to make sure it's reliable.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:30 amI understand COVID-19 doesn't cause body aches.raisedfist wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:09 amMostly I am just tired as hell and have severe body aches and headaches that came on very fast starting like Tuesday.

As it is meant to do!

Re: Covid-19, CPAP cleaning regimen
The fever itself could be a source of body aches for some people. Also a source for the headaches as well.ChicagoGranny wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:30 amI understand COVID-19 doesn't cause body aches.raisedfist wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:09 amMostly I am just tired as hell and have severe body aches and headaches that came on very fast starting like Tuesday.

And of course we still have the normal amount of viruses floating around to make us sick besides the COVID 19 so it's possible people are just experiencing one of those that people seem to have forgotten about with all this worry about COVID 19.
My husband and I just got over some sort of virus. Must have picked it up at the same place since I started having symptoms about an hour after he did so I can't blame him this time. Fever, cough, fatigue and some body aches. Pretty sure that we know who shared it with us as it came on about 36 hours after we went to a banquet and shook one person's hand...and then she went on to talk about how sick she had been.

What's scary is that she didn't show any outward symptoms of being currently sick with something. Just mentioned that she had been sick with something really nasty courtesy of the grandkids.
I don't know which virus we had...didn't go to the doctor. Didn't go anywhere at all.

Italy is in meltdown because the government refused to take this all seriousness. Encouraging people to just carry on doing as they always have. Hong Kong, Singapore, are models of what to do their infection rates are low.raisedfist wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 10:29 amI think soon enough we are going to experience what Italy is currently going through.
Except for one church that refused to change their habits, South Korea is doing well.
It doesn't have to be a disaster.

It doesn't have to be. My parent's have had two guests over today and are going to an event tonight. I'm in middle america. The roads are just as full as ever. Major companies will shut down, but I have zero faith in the average American.palerider wrote: ↑Sat Mar 14, 2020 11:46 amItaly is in meltdown because the government refused to take this all seriousness. Most events with crowds are being called off here;
though we have yet to see a diagnosis in the county. (Knock on wood).
Putting good munchies in the car to kill the temptation to get fast food.
(Been there--nobody gets sick leave; we know what that means.)
