OT Daylight Savings Time

Post by squid13 » Sat Mar 07, 2020 7:04 am

It's that time again, so don't forget to set your clocks ahead one hour tonight when you go to bed. Also don't forget your car. :D

Why would you laugh? I prefer having an extra hour of sunlight in the evening, when I'm awake, then in the morning when I'm asleep.

In Arizona, the last thing we need in the summer is more sunlight in the evening.

Which doesn't explain why you would laugh at people who aren't in Arizona. Nice try though.

Another Arizonan chiming in. We have plenty of sun we don't need to extend it, we don't have sleep deprived drivers commuting Monday morning (which is good because we are notoriously bad drivers ), and we don't tick off our animals

Should be Called Golfers Standard Time. That’s one of the primary reasons it exists. The only reason our part of our state is on Mountain standard time is that Wayback when union pacific railroad wanted to be able to run its trains on mountain time all the way through the state. Actually we’re almost as far west as San Diego. Sun doesn’t go down here in the summer until 10 pm

K.I.S.S., Buy a Clock that the Face (Numbers) rotate 360 degrees, then you can easily just rotate the face to the time Stupid Governments want it to be.

Personally moving it around is stupid, but we do have a lot of Stupid People in the U.S., so as long as they keep breeding we will have to appease them. Jim

The atomic clock in the kitchen will change itself. Eventually.
(((We changed it last fall, only to have to change it again because it did that--late.)))
Auto-resets change our phones and computers.
I will not reset the time in my cpap--it will soon be replaced, to become my travel unit only.
Gotta change the car clock--safer than digging out a phone in transit.

Got two of them, love them, only problem they tend to use more batteries than I like. Wish they had bigger batteries. Jim

Jewelry stores used to do a lot of business around this time.
Changing watch batteries (with time to look at more watches, bling, eye candy.)
Watches are not as popular as they used to be.
My Libre glucose reader has the time on it too.
