Cellular signal low

Post by dawnfogle » Mon Feb 24, 2020 8:24 pm

Help! I just started the cpap ResMed airsense 10 my insurance compliance requires 21 days with at least 4 hours of usage to keep machine. I live in a VERY rural area, as in most of my neighbors are amish... My problem is I only show one bar signal on machine and its not showing all hours of usage so maybe I don't have enough signal sometime during the night to show all hours being used? Is there another way to show hours used?
Im hoping this makes sense. I work in medical field (hospice) am used to putting on people, just not using on myself

See if your machine has the SD card installed. If not, purchase one at either Walmart, Best Buy, or somewhere else. Your doctor or DME will be able to recover information from the card. In addition, the card will enable you to use OSCAR to monitor your treatment.

You can just take the machine with you to show whoever the compliance data on the device screen through the sleep report section. It stores 365 days of usage.

Best is to do what Okie Bipap said and get a SD card. You can let them get the data off it.

Get Oscar.

You might/will need it in the future. :D

I would think that the DME would contact you if they are not getting compliance data. Get an SD card anyway. You will need it to monitor your progress.

Bars aren't a great indicator of signal. It doesn't take much for the device to connect. Mine consistently shows no bars but my results still show up in MyAir.

Speaking of which, does your data show up in MyAir?

You say "some" of your hours don't show up - if any show up, they will all show up. It's an all or nothing thing for any particular day. A low signal won't give partial results, it won't show any results at all.

The machine is recording the data internally, whether it is being transmitted or not. I believe that this is the case even in the absence of an SD card.

Therefore, the data are not lost, merely unreported. It can be recovered with an SD Card, bringing the machine in, or even one "lucky" successful transmission.

If your machine does not have an SD card, ask your DME for the card that was shipped with the unit. Resmed machines are shipped with SD Cards.

How are you determining that it is not showing all hours of usage?

Are you using MyAir?
Looking at the report on screen?

The two have absolutely nothing to do with each other, all the cell signal does is report your data back to Resmed. It's totally optional.

Oscar, if you actually want to know what's going on.

People think the machine isn't showing all hours of usage because of the way it records. It doesn't put in the night before until noon, so that if you go back to sleep in the morning that part is also recorded. Check again this evening and it should all be there.

Unless you slept past noon (on the cpap's internal clock)
At "noon", a new day is started, and only the time after noon is displayed.
But all time is recorded, though--each "day" with its own total time "slept", even in pieces.

My wife and I now own 4 Resmed 10 Airsense machines, all acquired new. None of them came with an SD card.

I stopped my DME from keeping mine by insisting my doctor said I needed to bring the card in on my next visit. He was just going to throw it in his desk drawer saying I did not need it.

I live in the boondocks, one bar of cellular signal is rare and precious. ResMed still gets data from my Airsense 10 Auto.
