Re: Bought a second hand Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset...how do I disinfect it?
I'm going to start using the machine and have a few questions:
1. As long as it powers on and blows air, its fine, right? As in, there's no chance that it wont adjust correctly or anything, right?
2. Is there any chance that the humidity control can be messed up or anything I should know related to that?
3. Any other final things to do before I use it?
Thanks a lot ladies and gentlemen!

So long as they are configured the same, they should perform the same.
Set them beside each other, go through the clinicians menus, and go through the settings on your existing machine and set your new machine the same.
Your questions don't make sense. You are basically asking if there is any chance that the machine may not work correctly. The answer to that question, like almost everything mechanical or electrical is, yes.

If i have the SD card from my old unit, but not the old unit itself, can I find that info?Dog Slobber wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 2:04 pmSo long as they are configured the same, they should perform the same.

If the SD card contains data from the old machine and you use OSCAR with that old SD card you should be able to see what the prior settings were on the old machine.
The daily reports all show the settings. See right below the orange AHI bar graph.
See this example.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately when I create a profile and try to open it, the application just shuts down. I can see there is a little thing on the right side that says import SD card data, but it's not clickable. It just stays grey. In any case, I think I might not find anything on there anyway--I inserted the SD card into the new machine when I got it to test it and see if it would auto update my information, so I have a feeling everything was overwritten. I think my settings were 5 min/15 max, and I'm not sure if there are any other settings I need. Ughhhh.

Re: Bought a second hand Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset...how do I disinfect it?
Just run with the settings of 5 minimum and 15 maximum and check the data.
As far as other settings...mask type...hose diameter if not using a heated hose....If using a heated hose then the machine will automatically select the right hose chose.
Ramp...turn it off...starting at 5 cm you shouldn't need the ramp anyway. All it would do is start at 4 and slowly increase to 5 anyway.
Exhale relief...EPR...You won't feel much effect with it since the machine can't go below 4 cm anyway...so maybe try a setting of 2 and when the machine goes up above 5 cm then the extra exhale relief will kick in.
That will get you going and once you have some data to look at then you can decide if anything needs some little tweaks.

Thanks a ton pugsy. I guess I could give the medical supply company a call too and see what they say, although they may not be happy to give me any info since I'm not using them any longer, lol. Maybe my pulmonologist would be a better place to call.Pugsy wrote: ↑Thu Feb 20, 2020 8:46 pmJust run with the settings of 5 minimum and 15 maximum and check the data.

Re: Bought a second hand Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset...how do I disinfect it?
Oh! Found the prescription info and noticed it was set to 7-15. The medical supply company had set it to 5-15, lol. Another thing I've noticed which is really worrying me is that it seems like this unit has a louder noise right where the air enters the unit (where the filter is located). Almost like the filter is too restrictive. I dont remember the other unit making this noise. I wonder if has something to do with me testing it without water in the tank and the heat/humidity off with no mask (though I dont think that shouldn't be an issue). I'll have to test it against my mothers and see if I'm not just making things up. If that's the case I may very well return it; the other one I had was very quiet indeed. Wonder if I can take it apart and check out whats going on if it continues making the noise.

Actually it is an issue. Test it with water in the chamber and your mask on...that's how you are going to use it ...isn't it?idkwhatimdoing wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 10:45 pmI wonder if has something to do with me testing it without water in the tank and the heat/humidity off with no mask (though I dont think that shouldn't be an issue).
It's a lot noisier with no mask attached and no water in the chamber. Should be nearly silent once you put the mask on and get it sealed.

Re: Bought a second hand Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset...how do I disinfect it?
I didn't think it would affect the sound of the air going through the filter. Anyway, I tested another Autoset and it sounds the same, so I must just be making things up, lol. I am going to let it run for a while with the humidifier and heat off because the air smells like air freshener or something. Hopefully that helps.Pugsy wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2020 11:07 pmActually it is an issue.
