Bought a second hand Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset...how do I disinfect it?
Decided to just buy one instead of go through insurance again when I didn’t comply correctly and lost mine. Anyway, got it through a friend. I have all my own tubes and masks and water tanks and all that. I think the only thing I don’t have that can get dirty is the air outlet. Is that worth buying new or can I just disinfect the crap out of it? Anything else I should pay attention to or need to clean? Additionally, will my info and settings be on the SD card i took out of my old machine? I really appreciate your help!

Wipe off the outside and that outlet thingy;, and replace the filter, tank, hose, and mask.
Done.
More is just a waste of time, money, and resources.
OCD is a rabbit hole best avoided.

Nothing to disinfect..It's just a one way blower...nothing from the previous owner goes back to the machine. Follow Chunky's instructions.
I think you will need to make your own settings.

The easily removable air outlet is in the same humidified air path as the tub, and hose. Routine cleaning of the air outlet falls in the same category of cleaning the tub and hose, it's just common sense. The process is shown in the clinical manual, page 20.

If it needed cleaning regularly details would be in the User manual not just the Clinical Manual

along with the comments you've received re: cleaning(with which i agree), you may want to download a copy of the free software oscar. it will help you get your settings tweaked. you'll want to take screenshots of the graphs it produces and then post them here. the experts can look them over and advise you so that you can get your therapy optimized.idkwhatimdoing wrote: ↑Tue Feb 11, 2020 11:33 pmDecided to just buy one instead of go through insurance again when I didn’t comply correctly and lost mine. Thank you! That software does look pretty amazing. I think my settings on the old machine were 5/15. I am pretty sure everything else was set to auto. I have to figure out which mask works well for me now. The wisp didn't work well, the full face mask was ok but still not great. I dunno where to go from there or where it's best to get it from so I don't spend a fortune to be honest!zonker wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 11:55 am

Yeah, I actually did see it in the clinical manual. It says I can disinfect it with 192F water for 1 minute or some chemical cleaner. I'll probably just dump some boiling water on it and maybe dilute bleach, i dunno.Jas_williams wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 11:49 am

i also realized that your min and max pressure should be available to you on the screen of your machine. so, start with what you had and see how that goes. my knee jerk reaction is you prolly have the minimum set too low if it's really at 5.
but let's see what you actually have it set at before i shoot off my mouth.

Ha! Actually, how do I know what it was set at? I have my old SD card. Can I find out from that or should I call the medical service company or the pulmonologist or something?zonker wrote: ↑Wed Feb 12, 2020 12:48 pm

Which model machine is your old machine? Depending on brand and model you may be able to use available software and that SD card to see what your old machine was set at.
This may work with your old machine and will for sure work with your new machine.

Re: Bought a second hand Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset...how do I disinfect it?
Just got it! It looks to be in really good condition. Only thing that worries me is the air outlet and the other thing that I dont know what its called. Here's a picture: https://i.imgur.com/ktPrXLW.jpg It seems like its dirty or there's bacterial growth on the air outlet or something.
I'll definitely have to disinfect it. I just have no idea how to get it out. The tab is so stiff im scared if I push on it too hard itll snap. Other question is there's a silicone ring to the left of it. Is that replaceable/removable/cleanable? Thanks!

See above...if there is a replacement part it must be removable. Look at the Important tips tab at the above link.
I can't find the little gasket thing though.

Got it. cpap.com actually told me the little gasket is removable but they dont sell the replacement part. Honestly it sort of looks like there's mold in the air outlet but I cant figure out why that'd be there. I'm deciding whether I should disinfect it or buy new, and I'm sort of wondering if this is even safe to be honest. Here are a few pics: https://imgur.com/a/rPvCTjb
