The major difference is that the auto is adjusted your pressure as required maintaining as low of a pressure as possible to keep your airway open.

The Pro is a single pressure machine it will be set at a pressure that will keep your airway open most of the time.

As far as data recording capabilities both machines have the capability of recording all information available, AHI, leaks, snores etc.

Hope this helps

And..............with the REMstar Auto the only data you can download with Encore Pro is "compliance". (at least that's what I've heard, so correct me if I'm wrong.)

I have the remstar auto(non M). It is a great machine! I can download all the data with the card reader. As Bregory said, The auto can be set to a range of pressure- say 7 to 11. Most of the time you will stay at the lower pressure and the machine will raise the pressure as needed to treat events. Auto is also good if you prefer a set pressure, as it can be set as a cpap. Given a choice I would always choose the Auto.

The auto keeps all data, not just compliance, just like the Pro. The only difference is that the Auto allows you to set a range of pressures that it only ramps through if you stop breathing and need the extra pressure. You can set the Auto to act exactly as the Pro does by setting it to CPAP mode instead of Auto.

No worries. It's what the boards are here for.
