Good day, my Resmed s9 (auto-pap) generates files with extension .crc and .edf and a few others. I would like to read and interpret the data so that I can set my machine right.
1. Do I need to download any special software to read my sleep data
2. How do I interpret the data to set my machine right.
My doctor is many miles away so I'm trying to do this myself or with online help if possible.
Most nights , my ahi is between 4 and 7 . Pressure is set at minimum of 12.
Thank you

Get OSCAR software as it works well with your model machine

Re: reading str.edf and .crc files on resmed s9
Adjustment to pressure settings will depend on what kind of apnea events you are seeing.
Obstructive apneas and hyponeas can be reduced by more pressure.
Clear Airway/ Central apneas won't normally respond to more pressure and instead we need to look at fixing the cause of the centrals in the first place.
Now a few centrals are normal and no big deal. We only worry about centrals when present in long numbers or they cause a problem.

ResMed's data formats are proprietary and not officially published.
Having said that, open source program OSCAR (formally SleepyHead) has reverse engineered the data formats for ResMed, Respironics and a few other devices. How well the data formats are documented, not sure.
The source code is at: https://gitlab.com/pholy/OSCAR-code
Instead of re-inventing the wheel, take advantage of OSCAR. If you have interest and programming skills join the OSCAR development team.

The type of file is a standard data format, and there are viewers for it, but they don't know what the data represents, which is why Oscar is betterDog Slobber wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 9:57 amResMed's data formats are proprietary and not officially published.
