Post by emir22 » Tue Dec 24, 2019 3:38 pm

Hello dear friends

my polysomnography results or sleep test results came back , i attached them below and you can open them and see the photoes of them .
i wondered if do i need cpap machine or not / how much sever is my situation
how much percent can it be related to my sleep apnea my unrefreshment and sleeeppy situation
i am sleepy near half of day or more ,muscle weeekness .

i am male 31 . and you can see my events below in diagrams . i need your coomments about my results . i have not showed my doctor yet .
i cant see stage 3 or N3 stage. Or REM stage of sleep in results . is it normal to have not n3 stage">

Other question is :can it be having not n3 stage due to psg or hospital test room conditions or stress? Anxiety? Or not?

Generally i sleep at 03:30Am.till 11Pm. But i think my good or usefull sleep is at 07:00am till 11:00am. But this test have taken 11.00pm till 07:00am. It was their routine. Can n3 or rem problem related to test time?

Hi - not sure if you're in N. America or not - ?? I ask because here when a sleep test, or any medical test is done, the doctor ALWAYS gets the results first (usually only) and THEY tell the patient results, then suggest the best treatment... the patient doesn't get results first, if at all (or only on asking the doctor for a copy). So are you certain your doctor does not have results yet?

In any case you certainly seem to have apnea, and should look into treatment with a machine, preferably an autopap rather than plain cpap as it gives more options for treatment. You'd also need a mask of course. But again, depending on where you live, things may be done very differently in terms of providing equipment, and whether or not you have medical insurance of any kind might matter... so without more information it's hard to say more about things.

Your polycythemia could have some part in your general respiratory condition, but you should talk to your doctor about that, especially if you're on any medication for it (as some meds can affect how well you sleep in general, and how you sleep with C or Apap). I can't believe a doctor questioned your hemoglobin levels if they were aware of the polycythemia. Strange.

Ask a neurologist about the left-sided sweating - there is a syndrome that can cause that... it's not 'crazy'.

When you write again, please stay with this thread so we can follow the story properly and help you if possible - you should have put this new note in the old thread as a lot of this may already have been talked about there but I don't have time to read all the old stuff. We're not doctors and you do need to work with them... we can only make suggestions, but don't appreciate having our time wasted when we'd like to be helpful.

Yes, you need a cpap, almost certainly.

No, it's not normal to have no N3 or REM sleep.

Your report does in my opinion clearly indicate a need for treatment. While your apnea count isn't so high, those hypopneas matter too. With treatment there's a good chance you could get more deep and more REM sleep. Once you get on CPAP and get your therapy optimized, let us know if your limb movements do not improve.
