Parental hint: learn calligraphy.
Only use it in extreme circumstances.

Mom could have used her left (or non-dominant) hand, because Santa is in a hurry.

she is a lefty so yes, she should have used her right hand. I guess it never occurred to her to do that. I was already at that age when I was beginning to doubt the existence of Santa, and the handwriting sealed the fate. The "handwriting was on the wall" and the "jig was up".

I still believe in the spirit of Santa.

The spirit part is very much real.

I have great nieces & nephews who that are young enough to still believe in Santa. I love being around them this time of year. Jesus may be the "reason for the season", but those little kids are another reason I am having a blast believing in Santa.

The "season" predates Jesus for quite some time. He's a relative newcomer as far as the eurocentric midwinter solstice festival season is concerned.

My husband & I never had kids. Not because we didn't want them, but we couldn't have them biologically. We did discuss adoption (never did consider in-vitro). But then we realized during our adoption discussions that we must not really want them badly enough to proceed with the adoption process & chose to live without children. We did have pets through out the years, dogs, birds, fish, but now are pet-less, footloose & fancy free. We have enjoyed our nieces & nephews & now our great nieces & nephews. We can always give them back to their parents!

Okay, I agree that the Winter solstice and all ancient & modern rituals, pagan or otherwise has been around BC but, "Christmas" itself is the birth of Christ. (even though it has been suggested and possibly proven that his birthday was not in December). It is okay to celebrate Christmas, or holiday season , Winter Solstice or whatever you prefer to call it, even if you are not a Christian. As a Christian, I have the right to believe & say Jesus is the Reason for the Season. If you are athiest, agnostic, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, etc.. Have a Happy Holiday and don't drink too much egg nog. it may interfere with CPAP therapy.

I had to go to Costco today, because we had an 'egg nog emergency', IE, not enough to last till my next trip.

I believe that everyone has the right to believe that eggnog is the real reason for Costco, whether history, facts, or the universe as a whole support that notion or not.

It's true, you know.

Their fruitcake is pretty good too, lots of pecans and walnuts, and a hint of caramel and rum

And people have the right to believe in SoClean, despite truth, justice, and the CPAPtalk.com way.

I consider the real reason for Costco to be their credit card, which is the only no-annual-fee (with paid Costco membership) cash-back (as opposed to Expedia points) card left at Citibank with no foreign transaction fee, at this point, I believe.

And I have always been highly impressed by the quality of the nuts I run into at Costco.

One year my dad brought home a freshly cut long needle pine tree.
The fragrance was heavenly, and the colored blinking lights
threw the most beautiful silhouettes on the walls.
I still remember that smell.

My dad never smelled that great, as I recall.
