Bleep/DreamPort nasal mask review thread

I am really interested in trying this mask, but I am a self-diagnosed/self-pay user. The mask itself does not appear to be on Amazon, although the disposable component is for about $500-600/yr.

Does anyone have a source for this that doesn't require a prescription?

I don't know of a source for the other part that you will need that doesn't require a RX.
I can't find it as a separate part.
Let me ask Stuart if he knows.

If not....I can buy the complete starter package at cpap.com (with your money) and I will be happy to mail it to you.
I have a RX on file at cpap.com.
In fact I have one that is unopened in my closet right now that I will sell you.
Then I can buy another one to replace it.

It might make a difference. International sales don't always have the same rules.
The cpapshop says they require a RX but I am trying to see if I just ignore it if it will let me get through to check out but the damn website is taking forever to load anything.

Slower than molasses in the winter for me but it appears that I got as far as adding it to the cart and attempted to check out with PayPal without a prompt to supply the RX but it wouldn't ever load the actual confirm and pay webpage.

Thanks Pugsy, you have always been so helpful with this process. I figure if this mask is as good as it seems, the out of pocket cost isn't really so bad given the costs that I avoided through not having to pay for the sleep study, the full cost of the machine, etc.

You can never be 100% sure of the cause, but I think the Dreamwear mask is causing me to have thinning hair in the areas of contact. Doesn't seem like a coincidence that it would be so limited only to the parts where I wear the mask. I figure I can try this for at least a few months and see if there is any improvement to confirm if the headgear is responsible.

Can you confirm your total cost of the new mask from CPAP.com? For my ZIP code, it seems to be $89 (doesn't seem to be charging me sales tax, may differ for you). Naturally, I will have to cover the cross-shipping cost as well. I think I've PayPal'd you before, but I can confirm details via PM if that works.

Thanks for this (and for the PM's)! You are correct, they do sell it without the prescription, and I even found a promo code to stack on top of it to make it cheaper.

Are the "DreamPrep" wipes still the recommended option for applying before the adhesive, or did this thread unearth better solutions? I can pick those up on Amazon as well.

I have never used them.
I am the queen of cheap...I got a bottle of alcohol at WalMart for 88 cents. I wash my face and dry it....and then pour a little alcohol on the corner of a wash cloth and wipe it over my nose where the port adhesive needs to stick...let it dry and then apply the ports.
My skin is relatively dry. The alcohol is sufficient for me but people with oily skin might do better with the fancy wipes that have witch hazel in them.

It's been nearly a year...and I am only 1/3 down the bottle of alcohol. Like I said...queen of cheap.

Fantastic, sounds good to me. I'll try the cheap method and then get the wipes if I run into issues on that front.

I'll report back on how it goes adjusting to the new mask, and ultimately if it makes any difference with the hair situation, in case anyone else runs into the same issue.

I think the idea of using the witch hazel astringent is it doesn't dry out skin like alcohol. That may or may not be an issue for you.

I do use the Dreem pads just because I bought a few on discount.

But if you're sensitive to alcohol, you can also buy bulk bottles with witch hazel.

No normal hose that could be bought mainly because of the part of the hose that attaches to the DreamWay

BUT....you can successfully take a P10 hose off the P10 frame and stick it on the DreamWay and it will work just fine.

In case anyone else is wondering, after back-and-forth with pugsy over PM, I ordered an N10 frame and pillow combo for $20 on eBay. Am almost certain it uses the same hose as the P10, and so should be perfect for what I need.
