Shape

Post by imacpappro » Thu Nov 04, 2004 4:50 pm

Mine are more oblong, and both are angled slightly different(this is a key to getting a good fit as nasal pillows are oval-oblong shaped). I require 2 different sizes pillows, large for the right nostril and medium for the left nostril.

Vote?

Ok, I admit it. Sad to say but I could not figure out how to vote. Probably would have resulted in a hanging chad anyway.

hanging chad

Post by rested gal » Fri Nov 05, 2004 12:42 am

LOL, Hoser!!

Better a hanging chad than something else hanging - considering the poll was about nostril openings.

Now, rested Gal, my feelings have been hurt. Admittedly, certain nasal secretions do at times appear and exit my nares, but I am most discrete and do not generally allow them to "hang" for more than an hour or so.

Hi Hoser,

I think you may have to be a registered member to vote.

Thanks for checking out my poll. The "Hanging" stuff I'll leave to you and rested gal.
Sincerely,

LOL... hoser, are you a guy? If so, then guys always think they are being discreet - especially when stopped at a traffic light!

My discussion of the shape of one's nares has become a discussion of something completely different.

Yes, I am a guy. BTW, I am feeling much better now that I see that I am not a complete idiot; that unregistered visiters cannot vote. I though I was simply not smart enough to discover the path to the polls. Thank you Wading thru the muck for redeeming my intellectual confidence. Now I must discover the shape of voters nares that are neither round or oval. Retangular? Triangular? Excuse me madam, may I have a peak under your nose?

Hi Hoser,

Why don't you register and vote?

I am one of those "other" nare people. No I'm not a vulkan with pointy ears and triangular nostrels. My left nare is cresent shaped due to my deviated septum. This poll originaly started from a question about nasal pillows and odd shaped nares.

Mine are round, but small. My doctor even commented on this. Damn DME told me I should use a nose pillow even though I told them my nares are small. Sure enough, it didn't work. The part that goes into the nostril had a tendency to close off.

Also, they gave me a mask that specifically says it is not for use with an AutoPAP which is what I have. Grrrr

What mask and what autopap? The combination you may still work.

The AutoPAP is a Resmed Autoset spirit. The mask is a Respironics ComfortLite (which is anything but comfortable). The warning that came with the ComfortLite says it is not to be used with an AutoPAP. It does not say why. Again, my nares are very small according to my doctor.

I have not read much about the resmed cpaps although I love their masks.

I do know that the manufacturer of the remstar auto is particular about what mask you use with their machine. That might be what the warning is for. I've have read that some of their masks do not work with their auto.

I suggest you start a new topic and ask if anybody has had any trouble with the resmed auto and your or any other mask. Also ask if anybody has recomendations for a mask to go with your machine. I have the resmed mirage activa and love it.

150 plus "views" and only eleven votes?

Why is everybody so private about the shape of their nares? (the hole part of your nostrels)

I promise I'll keep it a secret
