Heated hose - buy power supply or not?

Post by nbayer » Wed Dec 13, 2006 1:45 pm

cpapusa.com sells the 6' Aussie heated hose for 145.00 with power supply and 125.00 with internal pressure line. Which did people buy? What's the internal pressure line, anyway?

You might call the supplier and ask them. I do know that the Aussie heated hose comes in several different types - depending on what cpap machine/brand you are using.

I know that you need the one with the internal pressure line for PB420e. Not sure if all PB's have it or not. I think on the site for heated hose it tells you which machines you need the one with pressure line for.

As the others said...if you have a PB 420E auto you need the heated hose with a sensor tube in it. If you don't have a Puritan Bennett machine, you don't need the hose with sensor tube.

The "sensor" tube for PB machines has nothing to do with heat regulation or operation of the Aussie heated hose. The "sensor tube" is used inside ANY main air hose with the PB 420E. And maybe with the PB 420S, as well.

If you have any other brand of machine (not Puritan Bennett), the SZ4 heated hose at the bottom of the "Sleepzone heated cpap tube" page is the one you need.

cheaper to buy it direct from Sleepzone.au, price there includes shipping, they ship it US mail so it arrives within a week (even faster that UPS ground shipping from Texas to California).

Then just steal the power supply off your router.....(wait you might loose internet access if you did that..) Get one at Radio Shack for $15 bucks. Check out the Mosquito RC Helicopter while your there

$119.00 + $16.00 = $135.00 to your door from SleepZone.com/au

I got mine in September(15th). It was $116 US after the credit card co did the conversion. They had quoted me the $119 price (total was $155 AU) but the actual cost was lower after the conversion.

I bought the hose with the inline hose and piggyback power for the PB 420 and had a problem. Apparently, the power supply included with the PB 420 wasn't good enough to handle the hose power and it cycled on and off. A real night time surprise!

Get the hose with a separate power supply if you can. I thought I read here sometime back that someone else had replaced their PB supply with a better one and this had also resolved that problem.

Actually, free shipping to the US. The hose I just bought directly from the Australian company converted to $124 and then Wells Fargo charged $3 something for the conversion. (But I don't care because I love the hose!!)
