What kind of machine does he have? Does it have either EPR or C-Flex? (and is he using it?)
Also, what is the mask he's using and has he had problems with it before the pressure increase?
My feeling is that pressure increases should to be taken in incremental steps so the person has time to get used to the pressure.
Lots of things can affect AHI numbers, so I didn't really mean to imply that the issue might be "centrals".
Best wishes,
Den
One quick question.

DEN and MaryB: Thanks - I found that information last night, as a result of SWS answering another question and providing me with direction to my problem of daytime holding of my breath = "hypoventilation". (talk about bad habits!!! ha ha)
I did a LOT of reading, and now clearly understand the difference. It seems that I have BOTH types of Apnea, both central and obstructive.
I had previously thought that they were noninclusive. Some ADD added in there obviously
Thanks for your references; very helpful!
I have appt with my internist/great diagnostician Friday, and will address the issue of central hypoventilation (syndrome). It can be caused by spinal trauma, which I've had, and another symptom is myoclonus, which I also have, BUT has improved with cpap/oxygen therapy, interestingly enough.
I'm now embarrassed that I asked that question! Slow learner....but may help when a newbie does a search?

I think it would be very beneficial to get the software and card reader to see what's going on. If you've both got the same machines and they display the summary information on the screen, that tells me you both have either M Series Pro or Auto machines.....and you could both monitor your therapy.ready2sleep wrote:My husband oddly enough has the same type of machine I do the remstar with cflex, and he uses the F&P 431. He has certainly been compliant the last 2 mos as he is seeing the difference in his sleep in that he sleeps the whole night through, and also he is not as groggy the next day.
The software would tell what kind of events are taking place as well as other information such as leaks and snores. It (the software) would also be much less expensive than trips to the doctors. And, if you DID have to go back to the doctor, you'd be armed with the information.
