airsense 10 auto and airsense 10 cpap
Which one is better to buy in Toronto,Ontario?
Re: airsense 10 auto and airsense 10 cpap
ABSOLUTELY the AUTOSET.....The CPAP offers you no data to monitor your therapy

The "CPAP" model is GARBAGE. avoid it at all costs.

Re: airsense 10 auto and airsense 10 cpap
The AutoSet is better to buy, no matter where you are.
In Ontario, if you are getting your machine through the OHIP ADP program, which you probably are, than you can get a Resmed Airsense 10 AutoSet for Her machine even if your prescription is for CPAP.
Don't be concerned about the for Her branding, it's what a lot of us use, it's the best of all the AirSense 10 models. Your provider might want to talk you into a AirSense 10 CPAP or AirSense 10 Elite, that way they make more money.
Insist on an AutoSet for Her.

Re: airsense 10 auto and airsense 10 cpap
was JUST about to send off the dog slobber signal!

to the OP; the man speaks truth. the "for her" adds one more algorithm for breathing, which is the "for her" part. nothing particularly "girlie" about it. just resmeds idea to maybe sell more, i dunno.
i'm convinced that this machine played a big part in getting my therapy dialed in. i've used other machines, but this one just seemed easier for me to control.
good luck!

Re: airsense 10 auto and airsense 10 cpap
There is no autoset for men--the "for her" can be used by anyone,
but the additional algorithm makes it easier to get in Canada, due to luck.
The black model may actually be harder to get in some places, due to administrative stupidity.
Take the best you can get--decorate it with sports stickers.

There is no such thing as a ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for men
There are four Resmed Airsense 10 models:
- AirSense 10 CPAP
- AirSense 10 Elite
- AirSense 10 AutoSet
- AirSense 10 AutoSet for Her

Beats me why ResMed thinks “For Her” is smart marketing. All they do is signal “don’t buy this product” to men, which is particularly dumb given that more than half their potential customers are men. So endeth the rant.

Rant's aside, quite simply, it's because the 'for her' mode was developed, after quite a bit of research, for women.Miss Emerita wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 11:27 pmBeats me why ResMed thinks “For Her” is smart marketing. That some men like it too doesn't change that fact.

Re: airsense 10 auto and airsense 10 cpap
I've often wondered how many "For Her" users (men and women) are actually using the 3rd algorithm.

Re: airsense 10 auto and airsense 10 cpap
To be fair, the Autoset for her is only marginally better than the Autoset. Most people will not use that third algorithm...so even if you are only eligible for the Autoset, don't think you are losing out in any major way. The Autoset is considered to be the gold standard by many...the For Her just adds one more option.

In the context of this thread, the AutoSet for Her is hands-down, vastly superior to the AutoSet.Cruiser1234 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2019 5:42 amTo be fair, the Autoset for her is only marginally better than the Autoset. - In Ontario. one only qualifies for and gets a prescription for an auto-adjusting machine, if there is a medical need.
- The requirements for an auto machine are pretty stringent and the overwhelming majority are prescribed CPAP
- For some unknown reason, the AutoSet for Her qualifies as a CPAP device within the Ontario Assisted Device program.
