Need more water
I have a newer AirCurve 10 Auto. I wake up every morning with a really dry mouth. I have really high pressure and use a Amara View full face mask. I wake up every morning and my water tank is empty. Is there a bigger tank or a way to get more water. Please advise. I use a heated hose and I’ve tried lowering my humidity but it doesn’t help. Please advise if y’all can help me out. I’ve been on a CPAP for over a year. Thanks in Advance.
Re: Need more water
Your home must be really dry with the heat on. That along with a medium to high humidifier setting will use a lot of water. If you are a mouth breather, that would account for the dry mouth.

So is there a way to tap in to another container to feed my water reservoir?
Re: Need more water
I don't believe there is. You could add a small room humidifier to increase the ambient humidity of the room so the CPAP unit would use less.Dustin28906 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 3:48 pmSo is there a way to tap in to another container to feed my water reservoir?

Re: Need more water
Thank you I appreciate ur help. I’m new to using the humidity on my machine. My humidity is on 3 and my heated hose is on 82 F and my water gets all used up in about 6-7 hrs.
Re: Need more water
What is your leak rate running?
Maybe get one of those gadgets that measures the humidity in the bedroom....figure out exactly how much because a setting of 3 is on the low side in terms of added moisture.
Where do you live...what kind of heat in the house?
The factors that affect water consumption are:
1....ambient humidity
2....pressures used
3....leak rate
4....humidifier setting

Dustin I used to get that with my Resmed s9.Dustin28906 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 1:59 pmI have a newer AirCurve 10 Auto. I wake up every morning with a really dry mouth. There were 3 contributing factors.
1. My pressure would be between 18-20 most of the night.
2. I had the humidity maxed to open up my nasal passages.
3. I had lots of mask leakage.
3. Was solved by not over-tightening the mask straps
2. Figured out that I only had to max out the humidity for the first hour to open up my nasal passages
1. Losing weight has dropped my pressure requirements to 10-12 most of the night.
Hope at least some of this is applicable to your situation.

Re: Need more water
DIY supplemental water tank.
No need to add a sensor, that just complicates things. Water does a good job of levelling itself out naturally.
Add an external "Tupperware" tank with an air tube above the fill line and a water tube below the fill line.

The picture shows the external tank, without the airtight lid on. The lid must be on in order for it to work.

Re: Need more water
I live in Murphy NC. We keep the heat low like 65 66 in winter. I have very little leaks most of the time.
