Auto Cpap vs fixed pressure

JayDee, why do you have EPR off?

I've tried it at different levels and could not tell much of a difference (registered events, ability to exhale, or feeling like I slept well) between any of the EPR levels or when turned off. The last time I was messing with it, it was off and I've just left it off. I'll turn it back on to see if it helps with the aerophagia.

Those of you that have used both, which do you prefer and why? Does the auto change throughout the night? I've only used fixed.

I have both types of machines and have used both fixed pressure and ranges of pressures. Fixed/straight pressure is by far the most comfortable and effective for me. Also, in my case, I don't have the events that are supposed to precede what few Hypopneas or Apneas that I do have.......(Flow Limitations and/or Snores). I may only have a couple of Apneas in a month and only a few Hypopneas in any given night. No sense in having the pressure chase my snoring just to disturb my sleep.
In any case, people need to try both methods of therapy with various options to find out what works best for them.
Assuming they have an APAP machine to experiment with.

Auto cpap is always better; because if you need fixed pressure . . .
