OT: What is the logo supposed to be?

Post by ragtopcircus » Fri Nov 01, 2019 2:23 pm

Now that the jack-o-lantern is gone, I've been wondering what the squiggle over "cpap" is supposed to be. Is that a duck, a woman on her back, a hose with permanent bends, or ???

I always thought it is an old-style cable and headset representing the "talk" of cpaptalk. The "duckbill" is the microphone of the headset.

Don't know for sure. Could be a "duck" or it could be the profile/shape of an old Legacy model Respironics machine looking at it from the front.......humidifier connector plugs into the front/right of the machine.

cpap.com uses that curve sometimes... it's on their blog page.

Dunno what it represents though..

It was probably something that some 'consultant' came up with and sold to them for a hundred grand.

I've always thought the cpap in the logo was intended as a bed with the two descenders representing the bed legs. The squiggle, somebody laying on the bed under a blanket.

I don't think it's an effective logo.

Cute, better than a cloud, or a sunset--which is what Ihad thought.
