Timely Idea

How about equipping xPAP machines with a digital clock readout on the side, and maybe a wakeup alarm function?

I just started using a Remstar Auto CFLEX last week. My wife reports 100% of snoring (which used to be truly deafening) silenced and the Smart Card has me ranging from a nightly AHI of 1 to 5. So, therapeutically this is going great.

On the other hand, the machine takes up a G-d-awful amount of night table real estate. It's a price I'll pay very willingly, but wouldn't an integrated clock be great?

for the price we pay for these machines, it should come equipped with:

1. A digital alarm clock.
2. the ability to dim the lights to your preference.
3. a background white noise generator to mask the sound of the machine.
4. A SD card memory slot where you can put any camera digital Memory SD Card in and it records data to the card that you can take to any PC and read the report using Excel or Notepad or other text editor.
5. A built-in heated hose.

When you compare the technology inside these machines they are no better than a $69 shopvac.

And a Plasma T.V. on both sides, so you could watch from either side of the bed. But the low end machines would only have Black and White. Jim

I keep mine on the floor out of the way so I really don't have much need for extra stuff like a clock that I couldn't see anyway.

Good Idea, then I'd go for the high end model. Jim

Personally, mine had this. It was called I was wearing a ($%&# CPAP mask on my face and couldn't under any circumstances short of industrial strength anesthesia fall asleep.

But that's just me.

Liam, whose CPAP had NO trouble inducing wakefulness.
