I stand corrected.

I got a 100 last night. I believe that makes me a wonderful and successful person in general, which makes me like myself even more--which isn't easy, because I really, really like myself. In fact, I've been walking around all morning giving random people hugs and telling them that I scored a 100 last night. So far, no one has asked me what that means or has called the authorities on me.

It is a quick and easy way for me to see AHI and mask-on time. Both numbers are, by definition, useful, but those numbers are also reported to me each morning on the screen of my machine. I find the myAir page useful to me for seeing trending at a glance, but I would use other software approaches if I truly needed to troubleshoot my therapy.

But to get to the heart of the question, use of the machine is more important than AHI at the start of using PAP. Once the person is using the machine regularly, then AHI takes on more meaning, and myAir will eventually address that in reminders to the patient, I believe--similar to the way it will send tips for getting leak numbers lower if they remain high. PAP only works at all if you use it, so in that sense, usage trumps AHI.
Agree completely.

One of he biggest challenges for CPAP is to put it on and stick with it.

Including myself, I know 9 people on CPAP. Six stuck with it, 3 have abandoned it. I'm not sure I agree with MyAir's metrics and their respective weights, but as a motivational tool, it is effective for many.

((hug)) and congrats. Lol. My Ahi was zero last night. but my air docked points for mask leaks.
I had a good therapy night last night.

Nice. I am jealous of your leak rate.

My Air is good for muggles who may only understand compliance. It doesn't help with optimizing therapy. It's a good place for newbies to start.

But when you are savvy enough to know that an AHI of 6.5 or above is not a good thing, you're ready for the "Big league". Download Oscar and see WHY your AHI is still too high.

"high level" like looking out the window of a plane at 35000 ft....
"well, there's blue stuff there, and brown stuff over there, and some funny circles over there".
"but... what does it MEAN?"
"no idea.. .but there's more blue over there"

He is a very knowledgeable guy who volunteers his time to help people. We are the prats for picking on him all the time. Thankfully for us, he has a good sense of humor. :)

Well, CRAP! *I* had a 100 (29 out of 30 days), leak rate of 0, AND a AHI of zero,
ALL while holding my breathe underwater in an electric car, WHILE eating dinner!!

AND slept (according to machine), just over 12 hours,
because I took a 2 hour nap in the afternoon, WITH the machine.

Just an average day, except for the time.

Mostly due to what I've learned here, and used successfully.
