I suppose if APAP alone wasn't working for me, I might consider something like this. I rarely have insomnia anymore & get an average of 7 hours of sleep daily & not drowsy at work or while driving.. so I think not needed for me, but I can see where others may want to try it if current therapy is not working for them. May be worth the dough.

When I first heard about the Zeo it was around $150 I think or in that neighborhood. I didn't even know they had come out with the 99 dollar model. I did finally get to try one because someone was kind enough to lend me theirs but I just was never curious enough about my own sleep stages to want to buy one of my own. Like I said before....for me I am content with what my body tells me about my sleep quality but I don't have any problem with someone else wanting to dig deeper. I figure it's their money to do with whatever they want.
Just not my own personal cup of tea at the prices that I saw it at so many years ago.
I already know what is wrong with my sleep quality and it's been an ongoing battle for years to fix it. I have other health issues that impact my sleep quality and it's just a cold hard fact of life. Nothing to do with cpap or apnea or anything like that.
I don't need a device to confirm what I already know.

I notice in your spreadsheet the headings "Awakenings" and "Awake Duration". But nothing for the micro arousals you mentioned. Is everything lumped into the "Awake" bucket?

This is unclear to me at the moment....

When I raised this with them they said they were working on app updates for this they said would drop soon.

Note: this feature, as of late-November 2019, now supported in the US version of the Dreem app.

They had a firmware and app update that enabled this.

They now distinguish short from the standard "wake" periods (those that last more than two minutes) by using a dot on the hypnogram.

Am not sure if there's a minimum event time for them to report it (update: I have confirmed that the "short awakenings" Dreem reports are those between 1 and 2 minutes).

Note: just realized I was somehow using the Euro version of the app, so possible the below doesn't (yet) apply to US version. I'll update when more clear.

I'd be satisfied just having count of the micro-arousals myself. We're kinda talking about arousal vs mini-arousal vs micro-arousal here. Don't even think the 2nd and 3rd have any defined definition. As you point out, that's what you need for the new dots.

For comparison, here's what Sleeptracker tracker does. This is last night. The orange vertical slashes indicate what they call "periods of restlessness". These always line up with a significant arousal in my sleepyhead flow chart. But I never remember waking up.

I get these sleep metrics every night. I've like the sleep efficiency number, and I definitely feel better on days when my deep sleep is over 60 minutes. Amount of REM doesn't seem to effect how I feel at all.

Here's an example of the Dreem-derived sleep-stage data integrated into OSCAR via the Zeo import. Though my results that night were close to perfect, this integration makes it easier to see correlations between stage transitions and breathing events.
