Does CPAP machine have to be lower than my head?

Post by John boy » Mon Oct 07, 2019 12:41 pm

That's what the manual says. I'm going to be traveling soon, staying in a hotel and in a relative's house, and I don't know whether the nightstand by the bed will be lower or higher than my head. Any advice on this? Does it matter? FWIW I have a Resmed AirSense 10.

Welcome to the forum.

No, it really doesn't matter.
The below your head thing is so we don't have it up high and pull it down onto our heads and sometimes it helps with condensation in the hose (if you get the condensation).

This is a common solution to rainout.
Use a hose hanger, and it will not be a problem.
Or hang up a portion of the hose with whatever is handy-
-just so condensation runs towards the tank.

That is just to let moisture in the hose drain back to the humidifier tank and not into your mask. Rainout.
