Airsense One w/ SoClean help

Post by kalatraza » Tue Oct 01, 2019 5:57 pm

My dad uses an Airsense One with the SoClean system. He wants to travel soon and not take the SoClean with him. I can’t figure out how to set up the water tank without the SoClean. There’s a hole on top of the tank that the black hose goes through. Is there a plug for that or something?

I think he is using an adapter on his machine so that it can work with the SoClean system.
You should be able to remove the adapter and go back to like it was.
There is no plug sort of thing though.

He swapped out the water chamber lid that came with his cpap machine water chamber for this lid/adapter
https://www.amazon.com/SoClean-CPAPAdap ... B00T6MF3C8

Ask him where he put the lid that came with his machine's water chamber.

If you can't find it....you can get a new water chamber and use it if you have time to get it delivered or can pick one up from the DME.

And throw the soclean away, it degrades the materials in the CPAP.

SoClean O3 has not degraded mine in 5 years, nor does it or has it degraded my nasal pillows over 30 days...For the life of me, I don't know where this stuff comes from. If it works for this gentleman, let it be, keep it.

Try the lawsuit against them, and other peoples experience.

One suit has to do with a breach of contract on distribution rights.

The other suit was filed by 3B the maker of the Lumin system that uses infrared light to sterilize CPAP. The same light that sterilizes most of your food before shipment, and IV solutions before shipment to hospitals. 3B wants market share in the CPAP market. So I am not impressed it's just business and competition as usual. Thanks for heads up.

So, pretty much *everything* you say is wrong.

Most food isn't sterilized, and it's certainly not sterilized with infrared light.

I agree 100%

I agree 100% also. I have never used the so clean but a friend of mine that is a Sleep Study tech said that it definitely breaks down some materials. Soap and water your best friend. I like to use mask bright. But Dawn dishwashing soap works just fine.

As do unscented baby wipes--and quite economically, too!

If you want to use the SoClean fine. But, like it or not, Ozone is completely incompatible with a lot of materials. Many of which are commonly used.

The attached link is published by a treatment company that uses ozone:http://www.ozoneapplications.com/info/o ... erials.htm

It lists the compatibility of products with Ozone by providing a rating. For items to be used with Ozone they can't not be made with material not compatible with Ozone.

Given that no CPAP manufacturers suggest cleaning with Ozone based sanitizers, and the content of CPAP equipment may contain some of the common incompatible materials and professional Ozone handling companies suggest that only compatible materials be used with Ozone, the burden is really on you to demonstrate CPAP equipment is not harmed by Ozone.

Let's get back on topic please and not have this thread become another thread like the one I just locked.

If you don't know what the topic was...it wasn't about the merits of using the SoClean device or not using it or our personal feelings about it.

To both sides of the argument......You all have made your point.....move on.

and this is why I told the newbie a few weeks ago.. do not discuss CPAP cleaning machines, and don't admit you have one... this is what happens.
