OMG, thanks for asking! It's much better. I may actually have been allergic to the lotion I used for the rash. Or a combo of the silicone, lotion, and wipes? I'm not sure. All I know is that I stopped all of that and just use warm soap and water each day. I also loosened the top straps a little, as I was also noticing a dent around the top of my mouth. Whatever it was, it's gone. Thank goodness!

Re: Dreamwear mask irritation & other newbie questions
Finally got my SD card and used it last night. Here is my report from OSCAR. I believe I got rid of and formatted the report the way it should be. Let me know if I've done anything wrong and what you think. I have a hx of fibro, HBP, High cholesterol, and diabetes II. I take Lipitor, Metformin, Venlafaxine and a BP med.

I wanted to add that I still haven't changed the date on my machine (waiting to see the doc), so it shows that it's tonights sleep!
Also, I felt awful this morning. I felt like I tossed and turned all night and woke up very tired and fell sleep on the couch for a few more hours. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Ok, here's my next night's info. Again, didn't sleep well, seemed like I did a lot of sighing. Tell me what you think. Thanks!

Re: Dreamwear mask irritation & other newbie questions
So any idea what might be part of the problem with not sleeping well?
Trouble falling asleep in general? Trouble staying asleep and then going back to sleep? Lots of wake ups? Why?
Mask issues? Bed comfort issues? Any history of insomnia issues prior to starting cpap?

Re: Dreamwear mask irritation & other newbie questions
I guess it would be a yes, mostly. I do have trouble falling asleep. I've found that leaving my phone across the room helps. Then, I'm not tempted to look at it. I do have a LOT of trouble staying asleep, but not going back to sleep. I feel like I am constantly tossing and turning. Sometimes because I feel a little suffocation. But, mostly because I'm uncomfortable. I've had 5 left shoulder surgeries and the fibro, so it's hard to find a comfortable position. It's not the bed. And, yes, I had problems sleeping before this. That's why they did the study. I'd wake up SO tired that I'd nap a few times a day. The settings seem to be appropriate? It's more of a me thing?Pugsy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 12:24 pmSo any idea what might be part of the problem with not sleeping well?

Any nasal congestion going on?
You could try a little more minimum pressure and see if it changes the sleep quality any...worth trying.
Your Flow Limitation graphs is a bit active and they could possible be affecting the sleep quality....assuming you can't blame them on nasal congestion.
You might be like me and it's just the other stuff going on with your body that is making it hard to get good solid blocks of sleep.
I have some pain issues that I know impact things. Pain will do it....even low level not horrible pain will affect sleep quality.
Fibro is of course notorious for causing pain and then you have the shoulder issues on top of it.
Years ago I tried the "more minimum" pressure thing just to see if it helped or not. It didn't but I at least answered that question.
You could try 1 or 2 cm more minimum pressure and see if it changes anything....go up slowly and give yourself a week or so at each setting to see if it helps or not unless you have something horrible happen like bad belly pain from air in the gut or something.

No nasal congestion. I'll up the minimum pressure a little and see if it helps. Trying to find ways to feel comfortable, but it's so hard. Thanks for your help. I'll wait a week and post another graph, to see how it compares!Pugsy wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 2:36 pmAny nasal congestion going on?

Re: Dreamwear mask irritation & other newbie questions
Went to see my neurologist today. She's the one that ordered the sleep study, for which I'm very grateful. She's very happy with my results. I'll post my OSCAR data tomorrow. Funny thing is she said we'll just keep the settings the same. I don't think she realized I went from 4/20 to 7/20!!

Re: Dreamwear mask irritation & other newbie questions
They usually don't pay much attention unless you change the upper limit. When I first changed mine, our nurse practitioner asked why I changed my pressure, and I said I was more comfortable and my results were actually better than at the higher pressure. After that, she hasn't said anything about pressure changes I have made.

Re: Dreamwear mask irritation & other newbie questions
Ok, here's my OSCAR from last night. I think most of the OA's have arousals right before them. I'm feeling pretty good upon wakening, but swear I could go right back to sleep if I didn't need to get up. I'm not sure what's happening. I've found myself napping a couple times a week, in the afternoon. Any ideas?

Re: Dreamwear mask irritation & other newbie questions
I couldn't wear any "plastic" on my face. I have used a cloth mask for abt 6 years.

Nothing of great excitement on that report to point to why you might feel a need for a nap.
Do you wake often during the night?
Do you take any medications of any kind? If so, what?
