Sleepy study for 16yo son $$$$

This son's mouth is fantastic - perfectly spaced teeth, no crowding, no gum issues, all coming in straight and never a cavity. Son2 has too many teeth in a tiny mouth, total mess. lol At 8.5 yo he had to have pallet expanders top and bottom for almost 1.5 years, then crazy looking braces for a year. Took about 1.5 years off of no braces per orthdontist, doc wanted to see how the jaw line was going in puberty. Currently he is wearing Invisalign and totally happy with his mouth. He's my perfect sleeper, i finally got some sleep when he came along. No issues with him, i've watched and listened.

That sounds exactly reversed. What did the ENT say about the condition of son one's airway?

Son1 has no airway constrictions, asthma nor severe allergies. His tonsils are fine too. Crazy you'd think son2 would be having issues too but no. He could have issues later in life. My new ENT is connecting the dots with my issues, he thinks its UARS. Taken years to get anywhere on my breathing/swallowing issues. Docs said its asthma, congestion, tonsil issues, adenoids and on and on. I just want to breathe without struggling.

That's what insurance is. If everyone got out of it every year what they paid in, it wouldn't work. But, you know that.

It's amazing, the things you've convinced yourself are "just fine" these days.

You're right, if all the users broke even, there wouldn't be money to buy yachts for the insurance company executives... And then where would we be?

I skipped the insurance yachts fund for 40 years.
I I had to do it again I would do the same.
I was reasonably healthy during most of those years as was my family. Assuming a $1,000 deductible, we would only have benefited twice in those 40 years except we chose treatment in Rosarito Mexico, so the insurance probably would have refused payment even then.

Sleep study was Thursday night, he loved all the attention the techs were giving him and had 8 millions questions about the wires and information feedback.

We have the followup appointment next tuesday. Hopefully we will find out a solution to his horrible sleeping not sleeping issues.

Sounds like he would really enjoy monitoring his therapy with Oscar / sleepyhead.

If he ends up with an X-Pap ... be SURE he gets one with an SD card. (Like an AUTOSET / resmed.)

He can post his results and interpretations here and pretty much go as far intellectually as he is able to go. There are some serious experts here. (Though they have to talk down a bit to get to my level of comprehension.)

Sorry for taking so long to get back with the sleep study, i started a new job and it took a few weeks for me to get over being exhausted after work.

What i recall from the paperwork that is at home....
sleep apnea score was 1.8 -
Snoring... was low (don't recall the number)

what really affected his sleep was the Restlessness, he was awake 23 mins of 312 mins of sleep recorded and had a RERA score of 6.7.

The doctor said the restlessness needs to be address, stated a heavy blanket would probably help and have him eat a snack (cottage cheese, small pb sandwich) before he goes to bed.

We bought him a new heavy bed blanket (off of amazon, still not cheap but worth it) and wow he has stayed in bed and sleeping longer! He is actually waking up with an alarm and staying awake until bedtime at 9:30pm. There is more to share but i have students making a mess with acrylic paints - stop painting the easel and paint the canvas!
