can anyone intrepret this apap info?

Post by shaina » Tue Sep 17, 2019 10:18 pm

Yesterday, I checked the info on my night's sleep and found some new numbers, but I don't have the faintest idea what they mean.

Under "large leak" it said 5%. A percentage of the time sleeping during which I had large leaks? Usually this number is zero for me.

"Periodic breathing" also showed 5%. My usual number is 0-1%.

AHI was 2.5. This is also high for me. I usually feel the most rested on days it's under 1, though I don't generally get that unless I take ambien.

Does anyone know what these mean? Should I be concerned? I've been feeling very tired and keep getting migraines. :-(

A leak %age is meaningless by itself. 5% of what?

Where did you find these numbers?
Off the machine's LCD screen or were you using software?

These are from the machine screen. The app stopped working for me awhile back.

I agree, "%" is completely meaningless, which is why I hoped someone else might have an idea.

You might want to go here and request the manual for your machine.
In it you will find an explanation for the % leak number you see on the LCD screen as well as what Periodic Breathing is.
https://www.apneaboard.com/adjust-cpap- ... tup-manual

You could use available software and see when the large leak occurred and see if it happens to be at the same time as the periodic breathing was flagged.

This will work with your machine.

The percent numbers you see just mean you spent that much time out of the whole night either in large leak or Periodic Breathing.
