Rolling travel bag for bipap

Post by Olivia » Wed Aug 28, 2019 2:33 pm

Any suggestions for a rolling bag that fits my bipap. I’m going traveling and don’t want to carry my computer, purse and bipap. Briefcase rolling bags are not wide enough and I don’t really want a large carry on. Ideas?

You should detach the two halves of the machine for backing and travel.

Look for an appropriately sized camera bag.

The one for the Dreamstation will go over the handle of most rolling carry on bags. I'm not sure about the bag for older Philips CPAP, but I suspect it does too.

Your CPAP bag will not count against you carry on bag limit, due to an exception for medical necessity.

I have this one, which has apparently been discontinued.

This held my Ancient of Days Remstar Bipap ASV which is a rather large Beastie, my hose, my mask, my spare mask, my brandy keg (chin strap) and loops to support my hose in the motel. I have somewhat more room in it now with my much smaller PRS1 960!

There are several other Lowepro bags, possibly slightly larger than mine which might work for you.

What are you looking to include in the bag, only the CPAP? Or also the purse and the laptop?

When I travel by air, I ditch the bag that was included with my ResMed and put it in a carry-on. This allows me to fit things in much better.

Things to consider:
a) Wheeled, backpack straps, or both? Wheeled is better most of the time but sometimes the straps are very useful. I personally go for both.
b) How much padding? If it is only you handling the bag, I don't feel the need for a ton of padding. But if others will be tossing it around.... Something like a think tank bag will have great padding the ability to section stuff off well. A few models both roll and have straps. Serious money though.
c) How much space? Max size for most flights? Max for some of the international?

For business, I just use a small roller and a laptop bag. For vacation, I usually have that small roller (with APAP) and then a ThinkTank with a laptop and an obscene amount of camera gear.

Whatever you do, don't even CONSIDER checking your cpap;
---unless you can handle the adventure of having it damaged or lost.
It is a free carry-on--you'd be crazy to trust it to baggage monkeys.

I travel with an airmini. Put it in a zip lockback and the hose in a clear bag. Just in case they want to inspect it. Also if they need to take it out of the bag insist on them putting on new gloves and if they have to swab it have them use a new swab. ( don't mind having my dirty bugs on it, but not everyone else's ). How about the hotel rooms or ship cabins I put it away every morning same reason.

Traveling with a BiPAP, laptop, and purse can be challenging, especially when avoiding bulky carry-ons. A well-designed rolling bag can make all the difference, offering convenience without being too large or difficult to maneuver.
Since briefcase-style rolling bags are too narrow, consider compact rolling totes or soft-sided travel bags. These often have enough width to accommodate your BiPAP while leaving space for other essentials. Some brands even offer stylish yet functional rolling bags with adjustable compartments to keep everything organized without carrying multiple bags.
If you’re looking for something practical and well-designed, you might want to check out Coach Bags. They offer a variety of travel-friendly options that balance functionality with style. Check this link here for more information: https://coach-bags.co.uk/

You revived a zombie thread. Some of the bag models mentioned have been discontinued.
