British Members: New TV Show Is Looking For The Loudest Snorers
Please tell the idiot producers snoring is no laughing matter.
Re: British Members: New TV Show Is Looking For The Loudest Snorers
It's not clear what the objective of the show is, at least not from that article.
If the show brings more awareness to the seriousness of snoring (intended or not), it could be a good thing.

My point was that there were a presumption in the original posting that this series was somehow meant to take snoring lightly. There certainly was not enough information given to make such a conclusion. It could very well be a serious effort to educate the public. Even if that was not the intention, it could still be the result!

The recruitment refers to snoring as an "annoying habit". Snoring is not a habit and referring to it as a habit with the disparaging prefix "annoying", is not how one would describe it they intended on being helpful.D.H. wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2019 9:45 amMy point was that there were a presumption in the original posting that this series was somehow meant to take snoring lightly. I would think lightly snoring would be less of a problem. As far as a serious effort to educate the public, FAT CHANCE. Just more Mindless T.V. for the Masses. Better Still go to Viet Nam, and học hỏi!
Learnt and learned are both used as the past participle and past tense of the verb to learn. Learned is the generally accepted spelling in the United States and Canada, while the rest of the English-speaking world seems to prefer learnt.
