Can Spo2 average of 94% lead to high HGB 17.4?

Hello
I'm 31 male. For the last 2 years I noticed that my HGB levels is rising to levels of near 17 and even 18. I visited a doctor . He said may be its due to smoking or sleep problems and snoring. He was a onkologist. He did some lab and imaging tests and said there is no wrong thing with you but come to me 6 month later to see you. I did it for two time but no more. I personally am doing a phlebotomy every 4.or 5.month near 250 cc.

It has been about 2 and a half year that my HGB have raised. But I memorized my doctor that said it can be due to sleep problems. So I bought a P80 beurer pulsoximeter and measured my spo2.

Spo2 level is fluctuating between 93.and 95.
I noticed that my Spo2 is very depend on my body position. Specially when I lay down its usually goes to the band of 92.to.95.

When standing in foot. The Spo2 goes 94 to 97

I measured my family members Spo2 too. All those Spo2 were higher than me. And were higher than 96%.

If I want give a middle number I say I see the 94%more than other numbers. I will share a night record of mine of Spo2. I saw some drops even to. 85%.but they lasts no long time. And no more than 2 minute.how can I detect if those drops were artifact or not

I need your advise and views.

Speaking as a physician, though obviously not your physician, a high hemoglobin level (above 17 in a male) should lead to screening for hemochromatosis, a disorder of iron metabolism. Another consideration is a condition called polycythemia vera. Other causes could be chronic lung disease such as COPD.

I assume the periodic phebotomy is done under the authorization of a physician? If so, what is the reason they gave you?
