Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset Humidifier question.

Post by jsmit86 » Fri Aug 23, 2019 7:54 am

I have a question regarding the use of the humidifier on the Resmed Airsense 10 Autoset.
I had an original machine that developed some defects, and was replaced.

I started using both the original machine and the new unit with the Climate Line heated hose.
I have an aggressive cat who has damaged a few hoses, so I am using a standard non-heated hose now. I did this for a while on the old machine too.

I am noticing that when I don't use the heated hose, I am using much less water each night from the humidifier.
I can probably up the setting a bit, but I am wondering if other folks are seeing the same lower humidity output when not using the heated hose.

Based on the reports that the hose is somewhat part of a smart system, it probably makes sense.
I do understand that I will need to go back to the heated hose, or at least a cover if I start getting rain out.

More than likely a coincidence.
When local humidity varies, so does water usage.
The heated hose just prevents rain-out,
which allows you to use slightly more water--but not enough to notice.

I did 2 things different last night. I raised the humidity level to 4, and I ran the warm-up option./
It used the same or perhaps a bit more water than using the ClimateLine hose and leaving it at level 3.
Still no rain out. I probably keep these settings for a while, and see how it does.
