Could the constant air pressures throughout the night be irritating my inner ear, throat, lungs that result in lightheaded, dizzy, off-balance feelings?
Not common but not totally impossible for xpap pressure to be making its way to the inner ear by way of the eustachian tubes if for some reason they aren't working probably...and maybe cause dizziness that way.
Have you ever seen an ENT doctor for the dizziness/light headed symptoms?

I felt the bipap/asv devices had a more natural breathing pattern. Cpap therapy seems very rough and rudimentary.
Why?they're all based on *YOUR* breathing pattern, except for the ventilators that breathe for you.

I just switched to an ASV after trying two other machines and am sleeping much better and dreaming for the first time in years. My AHI is 0 most nights. My sleep doc was reluctant to write the prescription but is now on board. I have no lung issues. Perhaps the problem is more with what the insurance companies will pay for and have set down strict parameters. If you are willing to pay for an ASV machine (I was) and you keep bugging your docs, I
suspect you will be successful. However, I am not in a position to comment as to whether that is the best solution for you.

Does anyone know how to get a bipap and asv device without prescriptions?
If you PM me, I can point you in the direction of a used ResMed S9 ASV for an unbeatable price. This is the previous generation model but the breathing algorithm is supposed to be virtually the same as the current model.

@Pugsy
I have been seen by both pulmonologist and ENT doctor. They say I'm fine nothing wrong.

Then why do I feel awful everyday?

Cpap is basically the same inhale and exhale pressures which is unnatural. Bipap changes both inhale and exhale pressures. Breathing feels easier and more restful.

Cpap machines shouldn't even exist. Bilevel machines should be healthcare standard.

@Chapalauser
I'm always sleepy and never dream too. Did you get an ASV titration? Which ASV device do you have?

My doctors won't allow me to get an ASV device until I get a bilevel titration first and qualify for a bipap device.
If that doesn't work then they will consider an ASV titration. Otherwise I'm stuck on CPAP. That's the protocol. In the meantime I'm suffering.

Cpap usually lowers BP to some extent and if yours is naturally on the low side, it can make you feel lightheaded in the a.m. - check it with your MD, see if that could be a problem (possibly needing a pressure tweak).

Never heard of EPR or *flex?

Every cpap machine in *at least* the last 15 years has had pressure relief giving lower pressures on exhale.

Furthermore, believe it or not, not everyone likes that pressure difference.

Been tweaking pressures for over a year now. Not helping me.

You're entirely wrong about that.
Without cheating and looking at the caption, which of the top two is EPR and which is bilevel:

B12 complex vitamins should help somewhat with giving you some energy during the day. Depending on the mg you may have to take 2 or perhaps take one before bed to give you energy in the morning as they take a few hours for results to begin.

When my treatment isn't working right, like now, it at least helps me get through the day

EPR pressure support is only 0-3. Very limited PS unlike bilevel.
