Water collecting in hose with higher humidity settings
ResMed 10. Humidity setting at 6 but mouth still dry. A 7 or 8 setting results in gurgling of moisture in the hose. Any ideas how to correct?
Thanks

Re: Water collecting in hose with higher humidity settings
Try one or more of these:
1) Make sure that the unit is lower than your head.
2) Use a heated hose if you're not already doing so.
3) Lower the humidity setting on your unit.
4) Raise the ambient temperature in the room.

Re: Water collecting in hose with higher humidity settings
Dry mouth could be from mouth breathing. If your mouth was closed you would not need as much humidity...lower the setting and it may eliminate the water in the hose.

Adding it to the hose would be even better!

Re: Water collecting in hose with higher humidity settings
I'd suggest insulating the house and the hose... just to be sure!

Re: Water collecting in hose with higher humidity settings
plenty of suggestions for you to try, so far. bare in mind that humidity is one of those things where what works for me may not work for thee. which is why i usually keep quiet about it.Charlie6067 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 05, 2019 2:50 pmResMed 10. but as someone mentioned, dry mouth might not be down to humidity at all.
i use xylimelts for dry mouth. it's a small lozenge that fits between cheek and teeth, with a bit of tacky stuff that helps it adhere to the teeth. it promotes saliva as the lozenge melts. lasts all night long.
you can find them in the oral care section of drugstore or grocery.
it doesn't get to the cause of dry mouth but does help alleviate it.

Re: Water collecting in hose with higher humidity settings
Actually, if you're using a heated hose, I don't think that wrapping it will do anything (except to save a marginal amount of electricity). The hose is heated to a certain temperature, and that same temperature will be reached, wrapping or not.
Re: Water collecting in hose with higher humidity settings
How would that work? I mean, insulating your house is a good idea, but what will it so for the rainout?
