If you are going to live in SoHip, you need to catch on.

OK, this thread is going south pretty quickly. I'm going to try to pull it back on topic. I'm being serious here, but I don't think I want to come back and see what you all do with my remarks.

I don't think a pacifier would work because of tongue placement. The tongue would be below the (Oy,-be nice people, I'm trying to be serious here!!!) nipple part, that means you cannot seal off your oropharynx from the air and it's going to fill your mouth and make it harder to keep your lips sealed.

What DOES work is a mouth guard. You can get a "boil and bite" mouth guard (oy, are you all going to have fun with that, too??) because it allows you to place the tongue on the roof of the mouth where it belongs and the guard is a bit of a physical barrier from air escaping. It's also easier to know how to shape your lips to keep the seal.

OK, now the children will have fun, but I'm serious, if you are having trouble keeping the mouth closed, the mouth guard might work for you. Perhaps combined with a cervical collar or a chin strap.

This thread reminds me of why I shouldn't play Cards Against Humanity with my children!

I don't have any trouble keeping my mouth closed at night. It's during the day it gets me into trouble

Is it wrong I get a kick out of embarrassing my adult children when we play cards against humanity ?

(Oy) yeah yeah I know. I am old enough to know better, but too young to care.

Um... what about those of us that can put on the nasal pillows, crank up the pressure, then open our mouths and stick our tongue out, without losing any pressure?

The bad part about playing CAH with my kids is that they have to explain things to ME.

I see that a CPAP user uses a pacifier to keep his/her mouth closed. Please tell me more. Are larger ones available or is a baby one suitable. Please let me know.
