Dry mouth with slimline tubing

Since the weather is getting warm I have removed my heated tubing and replaced it with the slimline tubing. My problem is it is humid where I live and recently while wearing my dreamwear full face mask I wake up in the middle of the night and in the morning with a dry mouth. This is probably from me opening my mouth. My question is is there any benefit with my problem in going back to using the heated tube? If so what adjustments can you recommend? I know this varies from person to person but I am a loss what to do With the slimline tubing I have the humidity set at 2, would adjusting this help with the dryness?

A setting of 2 is relatively low humidity setting.
Try increasing it so your mouth gets a little more moisture when you do mouth breathe and maybe that will offset the drying that mouth breathing does.
Doesn't always work for everyone but you got a lot of room to try to see if it does.

Thanks Pugsy I will try that. As far as using the heated tubing in this case would there be any benefit?

The heated hose has 2 main benefits...hose air temp comfort and of course eliminating condensation in the mask or hose.
It does allow for a more consistent humidity delivery also.
I use a heated hose year round. I just alter the hose air temp to suit my comfort needs depending on the season since I tend to run a really cold bedroom during the winter months. The warm air in the winter doesn't feel so great in the summer.
I never change the humidity setting though. I let the machine sort it all out and deliver a nice consistent amount of moisture all the time that my nose is happy with.

Personal choice...I could use a slimline hose in the summer I suppose but I am lazy and just don't bother swapping them out.
I prefer set it and forget stuff.

In the summer I don't have much problem with condensation so I turn the hose air temp down quite low. It just feels better when it is cooler. Less "swampy" feeling.
I essentially make my heated hose a non heated hose simply by turning the hose air temp way down.

Makes sense Pugsy. Just one more question if I can. Do you leave the humidifier then on auto pretty much all year round?

Yes, I leave the humidifier on year round...and I rarely ever change the setting.
I learned a long time ago that my nasal mucosa don't like me screwing around with their moisture. When they get pissed off at me they get even....nasty allergy like symptoms develop and will usually last 3 to 5 days until the nasal mucosa get back in balance (moisture wise) like they like it and they are no longer mad at me.

I have had them get mad...usually when I forget to top off the water and it runs dry during the night and the nasal mucosa gets dried out.
They don't like being dry at all. I need a high humidity setting to keep them happy so they don't dump those allergy symptoms on me.
When I forget....I usually wake up sneezing and hubby has come to recognize it and says to me "hmmmm....we forgot to add the water last night and the machine went dry didn't it?" And yep...that is what usually happens. How long the sneezing and itchy nose lasts will depend on how long the water chamber was dry. Usually not for very long thankfully.
A long time ago I did try a lower humidity setting...tried a 1...bad experiment....nasal mucosa got really pissed off and I had a miserable 3 or 4 days until I got them back moisturized to their liking.
